Wilshere is too much of a hothead for my liking.
When the pressure is on,which it will be in Russia,I think he'll lose it.
Aye, I think Delph should be on the place tbh, he's held down a place at left-back (due to Mendy's injury, I know) for the league champions and played well by all accounts.
I really, really don't like John Stones, I think he's an absolute liability who has made loads of mistakes from January onwards and I don't think he deserves a place.
As for players outside the PL, other than Sessegnon no one really stands out, Conor Coady at Wolves maybe? Plays centre-back but has played right-back before too, could work in a three but would have been given a senior cap by now if he was ever going to to go.
I don't think there's a huge difference in quality between the bottom 7-8 teams the PL and the top 6-7 in the Championship tbh, we've seen promoted teams stay up, relegated teams really struggle to get back out, PL sides being knocked out of the cups by Championship teams, but you'd have to be an exceptional championship player to break into the England squad.
*I'm not saying Coady SHOULD play for England just throwing a name out there who may have a chance IF you were picking non-PL players.

My England 23-man squad
Goalkeepers: Pickford,Butland,Pope
Defenders: Cahil,Smalling,Jones,Stones,Tarkowski,Walker,Arnold,Rose,
Young,
Midfielders: Hendersen,Milner,Dier,Ali,Lingard,Delph
Forwards: Sterling,Rashford,Vardy,Welbeck,Kane
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its a bit much taking milner who's retired and TAA who's never even made a squad. Thats really a classic england thing to do that isn't it.

Think it shows how poor it is when your having to pick from your second division to bring players into your national squad. Fair enough Fulham might yet be a PL side, but he has little/no experience playing against any top flight teams or even consistently at that level. He's got potential for sure, but for now he seems much too young to be given an opportunity as basically all eyes will be on him to see how he does imo.
We aren't exactly blessed for quality depth anywhere really apart from our forwards if I was to say any. I won't be expecting much, I even think the QF stage is beyond our reach unless we get a favourable draw in the Last 16 should we even make it that far.
My squad would probably be this:
G: Pope, Pickford, Hart
D: Walker, Trippier, Rose, Bertrand, Smalling, Cahill, Jones, Maguire, Tarkowski
M: Dier, Henderson, Alli, Wilshere, Delph, Lallana
F: Kane, Vardy, Rashford, Sterling, Lingard
That's if all are fit and available, mainly pointing at Lallana there. If not Lallana, we are probably stumped and would pick from either Loftus-Cheek or Shelvey then, but neither stand out as great options.
