all true but wouldn't be shocked if he left... Limited upside at Spurs & endless resources at Madrid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the same time I think he wants to achieve some silverware at Spurs before he moves on, and has signed another contract presumably knowing he'd be a target for other clubs. He's obviously still quite happy where he is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree mate but that was all done before the biggest job in world football became available.Everybody knows he's done an excellent job with limited resources. His team whipped RM earlier this year... that doesn't go unnoticed. I really hope he stays but we have heard his frustrations and so far Levy is yet to prove that things are gonna change so of course there will be links & I'm sure there will be interest on both sides. I don't care what other fans think but to make out that everything is rosy at Spurs is stupid. Its evident that in the short term we cannot compete for the trophies he aspires to win and that there are serious question marks as to our ability to retain our best players. Saying that Poch cares about the stadium or that he loves Spurs in general is just stupid. Spurs was a step up from Southampton and Madrid are a step up from Spurs. We have seen in the past how Madrid watch Spurs players in Bale & Modric and they didn't think twice. All this stuff about Poch building a project has nothing to do with what he as an individual wants, its the circumstance that he signed up for & has thrived in. Hopefully Poch is committed & these links illustrate the need for Levy to back him but if he left I wouldn't be shocked and would not hold it against him. Football is all about money and as credible as Levy's stance has been re wages & fees you are eventually gonna get run over. You can only fight the good fight for so long..... Lets see where this goes but Bayern, Arsenal, PSG have all just appointed new managers, Allegri signed a new contract, United, City, Liverpool are set. So outside of Wenger, Conte the guys at Monaco/Napoli..... Poch is a very obvious choice. Zidane hadn't won anything as manager (Less experience than Poch) when he took the job so that argument carries no water either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It seemed that with his comments he was frustrated, and I was becoming pessimistic about the chances of keeping him, but then he went and signed another contract, which suggests that he's still pretty happy about where he is and/or he's had some assurances from Levy.
I can see the negatives in going to Madrid as well as the appeal. He may have more resources and a bigger chance of winning a trophy, however the downside is the pressure he'd be under in having to deliver success almost instantly, and handling all the egos. He has been afforded time at Spurs, and any silverware he achieves here is surely going to be more rewarding than having possible readymade success at Madrid.

Totally agree I have no idea... I think he has a great job that he clearly likes but Jobs like RM is the pinnacle (Despite all the chaos).... Tough one to call.... Do i think he'd leave for PSG... No. RM.... Possibly !
As soon as I heard Zidane was gone I was excited about the prospect of Poch leaving and you guys turning to shiiiit again
Then I saw that Wenger was 11/8 favorite to take over
Either outcome would be pretty interesting really but I hope Poch leaves you guys

He's young enough to get opportunities like that again. The rate at which managers keep getting shafted at Madrid, he'll be on their target list every couple of years.
Poch has loads of time on his side to get the Madrid job if he does want it at some stage of his acreer. The way they go through managers it will become avilable every 3 or so years.
Really don't see why he would leave Spurs, a club very much on the up, with a new ground and CL football next season.
