Just the way he plays, more of a silva role in where he picks up the ball, atleast for chelsea. But they have lukaku, bats, kdb, mertens and others so can see the goals being spread out. Will have to see how Belgium set up, but can see hazard and KDB being the link up players more than the ones getting in behind.

Same was said at Euro ‘16 and WC ‘14... they’re quarter finalists at best. They lack a top defence, have a bottler in Lukaku and a coach who’s mentality is to outscore opposition rather than play a system.

Same was said, doesn't mean they are "awful".

They lack a top defence? Probably 3 of the top 10 defenders of the PL in the 10's play as their back three lol.

For Chelsea he plays in one of the forward positions. Nothing like Silva who plays deep. Hazard is underachieving at the moment on a personal level. in the last couple of tournaments for Belgium he has been very quiet.

Kash I take it you didn't watch much chelsea this year mate.
On paper it shows him as the Left Winger but he usually picks up the ball on the half way line or deeper. Very similar to silva.

And as for underachieving I don't think so, Has been the most influential player in the league since he arrived. A POTY, second in another, 2 league titles, Single handedly won an FA cup and basically the only attacker in a crap chelsea team. Take his injury season away and he's been phenomenal.

Tbf It is worth noting all though he has to be our creator like silva, he also has to do the sane/sterling role also. Usually just has to do it all on his own. Was a massive improvement when we started playing giroud as he had someone to play off.

Not with Bobby Martinez in charge, he can’t set a team up to defend people say.

Worst mistake Moshiri made letting him go, he is phenomenal

When I have watched Chelsea he has mainly played up front. He even had a few games as this false 9. No one is doubting Hazard is not a top player I just feel his stats don't match the skill. Probably more down to how negative Chelsea can be at times.

2 of their best defendees are injury prone, and they have Martinez drilling them...

At Euro 16 the defence cost them, losing 3-1 to Wales. Hal Robson Kanu and Sam Vokes destroyed them...

very few over the last few years kash. Was only at the end of the season where he played further forward with giroud.(like the fa cup for example) other than a few false 9s that was it. His general position for us is so deep as we have no ball playing midfielders. The amount of times he picked it up from rudiger or christensen this year was infuriating. He will never be a stats man, although other than salah statistically he was the best winger in the league in all comps. Played a role in 35 goals in 42 games or something.

But like zidane, pires, iniesta, xavi and whoever else stats is not his game. He has to do too much for a poor team.

Also doesn't help that salah was on a mad one all year.

Also worth noting that he is usually top of most dribbles, most involvement in chances created, most fouled etc.

Not your goals and assists which are obviously key, but just look at he fa cup final, had he not scored the pen, he was still head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

I'm happy with best player in the pl cosmic not fussed by what level he was suppose to reach, he's given two woeful teams two league titles so i'm more than happy with that.

Belgium are a bit like us during our ‘golden generation’ period in the mid 2000’s. Looked a great team on paper but flattered to deceive at tournaments.

Hard to see past Belgium for 2nd in the group.

Belgium are better than us all over the park.
