I'm happy with Goldson coming in with Katic, would rather we didn't spend big wages on Skrtel.

If we sign Goldson along wiht the Katic there is no need to sign Skrtel. He is on 70k a week there also.

Unless both Skrtel accepts a massive wage drop ie down to 20/25k AND we get good money on top of that for Morelos then it would be stupid to go ahead.

I really cant see Skrtel taking the wage drop I think would be necessary to make it a worthwhile signing.

if you think using that extra money to pay Skrtel's wages and not sign a replacement striker is wise then in this transfer window I would like to propose a straight swap...... Esc for Timmy !!

Although I do think a back three would suit us with Tav and John as the wingbacks as that is prob better for they two.

We can’t afford Skrtels wages

Also think Morelos will be better next season. The kid didn’t really have a break last summer, and moved here and hit the ground running. If he can put away the easy chances he can be a top striker for us

.. of course we’d sign one. But based on fact that Skrtel was being touted for £3.5m then that would gives us Skrtel + £5m+ based on our valuation.

That would sign us a striker or 2 no probs. And we’d have Skrtel too.

Seems like a good deal to me

Don't see the logic of this tbh....maybe Morelos has indicated he wants to go and has made that plain. Just got two centre halves so would have though other positions need addressing. IF true, which I doubt, then surely Rangers be looking at Skrtel plus £3m

He’s still only 21, moved here from Finland without a break and hit the ground running without having time to adapt.

Reckon he can step up, and if he takes the easy chances he can be great for us up top.

why would he take the wage drop ?! he would earn the exact same amount over 1 year at Fenerbache than he would 2 years at us. He would then have his choice of suitors after that year.

Give it a break. It’s just daft, his agent said finances meant it was a non starter.

Would be absolute stupidity if we gave a 33 year old Skrtel 40,50k a week rather than investing that money in a couple players.
