Remember him well in the early seventies.
Best wishes

Fantastic header of a ball was he.

A great fellow indeed who I respected well. I saw him playing on many occasions when I was lodging at an address not far from White Hart Lane. It’s so sad to hear this.

Best wishes go to you Gilly.

Gilzean was not only the best header of a ball I have ever seen, he also formed half of the deadly duo known as The G Men.

The other half of course being Greavsie.

Seeing these two in declining health just shows the mortality of life. We should all be grateful for our health as we get older, because you never know when something like a stroke, dementia or cancer might strike.

My best wishes to one of my favourite Spurs players and also my thoughts and prayers.

The "G Men" Greaves and Gilly, LETHAL with his head, I hope he makes a full recovery.

"King of White Hart Lane" as the choir often sang.

I'll NEVER fright that header at WHL in 1970 to draw us level with Man Utd after being 0-2 down. The ball whizzed off of Cyril Knowles's boot at high speed and even faster off of Gilly's head into the far corner, he was facing away from goal too. I recommend it to your viewing, Spurs v Man Utd 1970, December.

One for us oldies. Both sides full of legends and great commentary from Brian Moore.

If you can't be arrsed watching the full 30mins the goals are approximately
Dennis Law 10mins
George Best 16mins
Martin Peters 20mins
Alan Gilzean 26mins

Should've won this match by 6 or 7.

Best of luck to Gilly

Was such a great and gracious player, one of the reasons I loved watching Berbatov was that he reminded me of the King of White Heart Lane.

Jimmy Rimmer stopped the thrashing of Utd that day.

Same match Rimmer produced an impossible save from Gilly from point blank range.
