Imagine if stretty knew there is more to football than just goals and assists.

I’ve never seen Stretty have a civil, calm, rational conversation on here. Ever.

It’s a genuine shame because people have indeed tried in good faith to engage.

He seems incapable of holding a normal dialogue with other people. One wonders if this is the same in real life.

Chris Coleman did a good job with Wales. But he's been pretty bad at club level. Some managers suit the international set up. Others don't. And some excel/fail at both.

It's too early to say Southgate has done a good job. We've had great qualifiers before. We have also under performed as well I previous tournaments and this one. Tunisia could have ended up as a draw. Panama are the worse side we've faced at an international tournament for a long time.

If he can get the team to perform against a strong Belgium side and get to the quarter finals and beyond, you could say he has done a good job and people were wrong about him. We have underperformed in the last few tournament. We should be a team getting to the quarters.

Even now, when we have the "worse team for years", we're not as bad as a team as many make out. France, Germany and Spain are probably the only sides stronger than us in Europe. Portugal probably stronger due to Ronaldo. Other nations are also going through their own "worse teams for years" phase. Holland, Italy, Argentina, and USA are examples of teams who have been at world cups the previous times who have failed to get there (Russia) or failed to perform when they have just managed to get there.

Articles like these are premature.

It is certainly true that players such as Lingard seem to be thriving under the supportive, nurturing and encouraging environment that Gareth Southgate is providing as a manager.

Same appears to be the case with both Lukaku and Pogba in their respective national sides.

Lingard has thrived for both.

Pogba hasn't for either. His form for France seems to mirror his form for United. Lukaku has thrived for Belgium.

No metth they are enjoying themselves, they can see the squads more settled than in previous years.

No one expects England to win it.

Stretty,

Most of the board is ridiculing you, myself included. I guess this is nothing new to you but it cannot be fun all the time.

You seem so angry and/or negative about every single topic you contribute on these days (years). Is there something going on outside of here that's troubling you?

Would you rather have a less confrontationary experience on here? Let's try putting differences aside and starting fresh. I'm sorry for mocking you so incessantly. Perhaps if you don't tell people to shut up as your first comment in response to theirs, other may also be prepared to debate in good faith with you.

Im not angry about anything, and im good with the debate on here.

If youre not, that's up to you

No one is getting carried away, this is the worst England squad quality wise in about 25 years. But its certainly nice to see us actually win a couple of games at a tournament.

not expecting anything against Belgium and well probably go out against the better sides when the time comes but at least it hasn't been as bad as previous tourneys.
