As for the departures from the Club-
Ince, wasn't overly impressed with him last season and amazed we have at least £10million coming in for him. Great Championship player but for me the Premier League is a step too far for him

Hefele- Take away the following 3 things
1) Walking into shhot pre-season in a bathrobe
2) Scoring a fluke off his backside at Villa
3) Swearing on Telly
What you are left with is a committed but very average player. No great loss

Malone- His days were numbered the moment Kongolo signed on the dotted line. Like Ince he struggled in the top flight.

Good read UTG, five leaps of joy from me!

I know it's sheer excitement with another season in the Premier League, but I've just laid down $20 on Town to beat Chelsea! Before you ask, no, I'm not peaced, it's 10am here. A potential $130 win, doubtful, but worth a punt.

I'm happy with the incomings and outgoings. The new lads seem greedy and hungry, phrasing the words of Wagner. In particular, Diakhaby and Mbenza, these two look like they will score and provide goals! Mounié looked sharp in the friendlies, especially in the air. Depoitre too looked good. I hope they now get the service they deserve and are able to show what top strikers they are. Go on lads, make us proud.

Sobhi looks a strong lad and makes decent runs forward too. Town should now be able to make threatening attacks, with an end product, from both wings now. I feel Pritchard will step up this season too, as there are other creative players who will be able to assist in little Pitch getting higher up the pitch. Billing also played some decent matches in pre season, hopefully he has listened and learned from Wagner and he now kicks on.

Yes, Hef will be missed, but not a great player. Ince, no surprise really, the lad knows he's not PL standard. Malone, never a fan of him, not enough end product. Seems like Preston aren't really keen on Quaner either, he didn't move on.

I signed up for the HTTV subscription service, it was utter sheite, they lost the feed for the first friendly match in Germany. I closed the account and got a refund. Anyone else signed up or had issues?

Well done you UTG on going out to see the lads play! When they played in Austria, the backdrop of the mountains looked stunning. I must go to Austria, one day...

I had a great time in Germany LV, those Essen fans are nuts 😂 I never thought I would be standing at a bus stop in Germany sharing an Essen fan’s beer while waiting to travel to the stadium. We asked about tickets for the bus only for the Essen fans to say disdainfully ‘Tickets? We do not have tickets.’ And no one did, when the bus arrived everyone just piled on so we followed suit 😂

Another fan gave me a potted history of the area as we travelled and said Kachunga had played for a boys’ team he had coached. Also I didn’t know Mesut Ozil had played for Essen.

One elderly Essen fan kept shaking my son’s hand, we hadn’t a clue what he was saying but think he was wishing us luck.

There were a group of fans outside the stadium wearing black t-shirts with Essen Commandos in white printed on and they did look as if they were ready to start on a couple of lads in Town shirts but the police soon stepped in.

It was a gorgeous, hot day and it was so nice to sit in the stands and be able to drink beer whilst watching football. I’m not a big drinker but I enjoyed it. So different to here.

We walked back into Essen after the game as we had no cash left on us and we daren’t risk getting on the bus without huge crowds of people around us. It was further than we thought and I was struggling a bit due to back problems so my son (who’d had a few) thought if we got stopped by the police they might give us a lift back. I’ve been to Germany before and soon realised that even when the road is clear hardly anyone crosses until the green man shows, and it was no different this time. Anyway we saw a police van approaching so my son said ‘quick, let’s run across the road in front of them’ They didn’t even notice, they both, including the driver, had their heads down looking at their phones, so we had to carry on walking. We couldn’t even get arrested 😂

We went into Düsseldorf on the Sunday, walked for miles (again) and sat in the sun drinking beer by the side of the Rhine. It was an amazing trip and I loved it.
