Deco is the one you miss from that group?

Whilst both Kanté and Jorginho scored on Saturday I still feel that in big moments we won't have a goal scorer in midfield, We've yet to see Kovačić and what he can bring but I have my doubts about him in the final 3rd.

I still feel we are 3 players away from being on Man City's level... We need a more competent LB, A striker who will smash in 20 league goals minimum and a goalscoring midfielder/winger to take the burden of Hazard.

I like the direction the club is going tho, Attacking pressing football.

It's nice when we are in the lead not to shut up shop.

Deco was always one of my favourite players too. Loved that we picked him up even for just a little bit at the end of his career

Nope, Kante is world class.
Jorginho will be quality.

Cesc is finished, will be useful in cups vs terrible teams.
Barkley is overhyped and pretty poor.

Kovacic untested.

Didier Deschamps and Desaille were stalwarts in that department, Frenchies continue supplying our MF.

I don't understand how this is even a comparison?

It's like comparing Uniteds 99 champions league team to Uniteds Europa league winning team..

Not even in the same league IMO

It's not a comparison though is it the title says best since so the comparison is with all other groups in between

Yes that's why I said the best options since.

Just because we've had better doesn't mean it's not great to have a massive improvement over recent years.

Well if I had to pick a player to have from those three at the age they were then it would be Frank>Ballack>Deco and clearly lamps is an all time great for us but there was just something special for me about watching Deco playing for Chelsea.

Ahh sorry, I'm blind

Certainly looking at it that way I'd say we've got a good range of options now for sure!

Yeah I agree that this is the best options that we’ve had in the middle for some time.

I get people saying Kovacic untried/untested etc, but trust me, I’ve watched a lot of him, and he is absolute class. It’s no shame that he hasn’t been able to nail down a place ahead of Modric/Kroos/Isco/Rakitic for club and country. He’s actually most similar to Modric out of all of those players. Close control and first touch is excellent.

Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Kovacic, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek. Very good options.

I noticed Fabregas wasn't even on the bench Saturday; was he injured or have we now got a manager who can see through him?

He was injured. Apparently played through it against city and made it worse. Don't think he'll be starting now, reckon he'll be behind Kovacic and even barkley. Can bring him on in the last 20 minutes where his lack of pace won't be so exposed.
