Leicester v Wolves Match Preview [LIVE]

Agree Nuneaton we struggle to beat teams who sit deep and play on the counter. Could work well for Wolves as we don’t create many chances

Do we really believe that coaches at the top level today, and this early in the season, actually send out teams "not to get beat"?

Nuno's approach is to keep our shape, control the game, attack space where ever it can be created by our most our most creative players drawing the opposition out of their shape whilst retaining ours.

It didnt quite work at times on Saturday because:
1. We gave the ball away cheaply too often.
2. Moutinho & Neves are still working on an understanding, who holds, who moves. With Saiss or N'Diaye it was clear what the roles would be, now not so.
3. Castro didnt get forward enough due possibly to being worried about his defensive duties, and to be fair some good defending by Coleman.

These things will ironed out over the next few weeks and I think we'll get in to a rhythm pretty soon.

That said Leicester away is a toughie, I'd take a point right now. 1-1.

It's hard to tell how we're playing right now. We played pretty well against Man U and had control of the game for long periods, but didn't do anything with that control and still lost. And besides, were we good in possession or were Man U poor?

We do now have a chance to make a statement that we are a decent team, but could equally just be taken apart on the break time after time by what's bound to be an enthusiastic Wolves side determined to make their own statement that they're here to stay. All in all, a very difficult match to call.

Costa an Jota are quick, but imagine having them start and then Traore and Cav coming off the bench on 75 minutes.

One things for sure, we'll need to keep it on the deck, we'll get nothing in the air out of Morgan and Maguire.

Nothing to do with the match, but a touch of class from Barnsley.

Dependent upon source (I’m guessing this is reflective of the last deal we cleared on deadline day), Leicester spent either £81m or £103m, our net spend being therefore either £5.9m or £27.9m - I believe this, even with the higher of the figures - puts us at 6th lowest net spend in the league.

Wolves spent £69.8m. Net spend - £64.1m: 5th highest in the league I think.

Not that it really matters but to answer the question in case it was burning a hole!

Thanks for clarifying that KTF. As you say it doesn't really matter but it was not my intention in the OP to discredit Leicester in any way. Your figures make more sense than mine

Though I have to say your figure for Wolves spend is, not correct.
Diogo Jota [Atletico Madrid] £12.5m
Willy Boly [Porto] £10m,
Ruben Vinagre [Monaco] £450,000
Leo Bonatini [Al-Hilal] £3.5m
Rui Patricio [Sporting Lisbon] Free,
Raul Jimenez [Benfica] Loan,
Jonny Castro Otto [Atletico Madrid] Loan,
Joao Moutinho[Monaco] £5m,
Adama Traore [Middlesbrough] £18m,
Leander Dendoncker [Anderlecht] Loan

Total spend = £49.5m

However, once the whole Rui Patricio thing has been dragged through the courts, we will probably end up paying c. £20m for him.

The £100m transfer never happened but Zele still has some magic in him. Picked up the ball in his own half, took it forward 70 yards and slotted the ball into the corner of the net for Walsall last night. Shame he never made the grade with us. Certainly not lacking ability

I am my friend, I certainly am. Not been on here much of late due to getting our boat shipshape for a sailing trip to Minorca.

Update on Cav's injury

We need Cav back ASAP

No update on Traore's shoulder injury but I can't wait for those two to replace Jota and Costa on 60 minutes. That's when centre backs get new ones torn!

Dendoncker is available for selection on Saturday and if he is as good as his reputation he should walk into the starting eleven but in place of who. The obvious player to make way is Ryan Bennett but he was our best defender last week so maybe Donk will be sitting on the bench for this game

Heads up for anyone with access to BeIN Sports. The game is live on HD5.

Remember that Jamie Vardy was someone McCarthy wanted to sign from, at the time, non league Fleetwood but Moxey would not sanction the transfer. But it was kept very quiet that we were also very close to signing him less than 2 weeks ago

Adama Traore was able to train this week and could be in the squad for the Leicester game after all

It won’t be the first time Jota has played at the King Power Stadium as he appeared for Porto there in the Champions League
