I agree to an extent, though I'd say Spurs were starting to get into dangerous positions before the goal. I get that everyone likes to see the pressing and sees it as a sign of effort, but your players were all doing it at the same time and leaving huge gaps that Spurs were beginning to find.
Jose has had enough time and invested enough money in the defence, the book stops with him.
He's signed two CBs for decent money and is known as a defensive coach. If he can't get the defence sorted then what's the point?

Our entire back 4 today consisted of 0 Jose signings. Our best player was Shaw today, a defender and our 2nd best player last season Young was a converted winger played at LB.
A coach can only train and set it tactics. Pep: “Players win matches, not coaches” Lapses in concentration and simple mistakes from players are part of the parcel of being a coach. Jose got today right and it didn’t work out for him, it happens.
Not saying overall we are good enough, but he can’t be blamed for it goals conceded today
Luke Shaw was our best player tonight and by a long way.

For some reason, he looks a yard fitter, than any of his team mates.
Our first decent performance this season.
You look even worse than we did in 15/16, sadly i think your learn from our mistake and act before it's too late.

It’s jose that selects the players, he’s had 2years to get rid of jones/smalling, also bringing in the other two so dnt care if “his” players did t start tonight in defence they started last game and that was worse, manager doesn’t inspire confidence in his players
The thing is, Ji, we played quite well in the first half.
We just defended poorly again in the second.
No idea what possessed Jose to play Herrera at the back, though.
Still think your midfield is as much of a problem if not more.
I suppose we made a worse start in 07-08 season lol.

I enjoyed the game. Particularly the first half. Very happy with that.
Second half just compounded what Jose was moaning about. No point backing a manager 70% of the way. Not quite enough rope to hang himself IMO.
