Best to tag a couple of teams for a decent response mate.
For Thailand I would recommend the krabi region. You can stay a day or two on each island. Koh Lanta, Phi Phi and Railey Bay are good locations.
If you are staying in Bangkok I would highly recommend the Amaranta hotel. £60 per night and it is a luxury hotel with roof pool

Pretty easy to get around, mostly just uncomfortable buses at horrible times, but make sure you ask a few places to make sure you're not paying over the odd rather than just booking with the first people you see.
If you can get it then overnight train travel is a pretty good way to get around, see a lot of countryside, reasonably priced and not paying for a bed that night.
Finally wouldn't try to fit in too much and would try to be loose with your plans, you'll meet a lot of people and it's likely you'll meet people going in the same direction as you that you'll wanna join, so if you have some flexibility it's good. You'll also probably lose a day to theshiiiits
If you have a good budget you can book hotels a couple of days in advance. I usually book a hotel for the night I arrive then find better places at cheaper prices when you are there
Remember and check for Adam's apples.
Just being to Bali and Manila, stay well the feck away and another part of that country Cotabato city which is the 90% Muslim part compared to rest rest of the country being 90% catholic, needed an armed guard with us for the few days we were there, brothers wedding, mental.
But the places you mentioned I’d go in a heartbeat and hope to bar Bangkok, even being street wise it appears to not be one for the faint hearted.
Oh and btw, don’t forget the teabags.😉🙏

Just do your research on proper sites. There will be loads of advice out there. You definitely need to get your hotels pre booked though, it would be insane to go out there with no plans and just wing it.
In what way are you looking to do it? Luxury or flea ridden hostels with 21 year olds? If I were you I'd definitely have your first couple of hotels booked, you will then meet people out there who can give you advice and you can decide then how to do the rest of it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah will have the hotels lined up, I had some prebooked for the original November trip so just need to adjust the dates on those. Not looking to spend much on rooms as it will be just to get my head down so middle of the road is fine.
But the places you mentioned I’d go in a heartbeat and hope to bar Bangkok, even being street wise it appears to not be one for the faint hearted.

Was in Bangkok for NYE having a great time in street parties with some locals until a couple of guys came and smashed up this womans food stall and slapped her about it. Being a few beers in I was up for getting involved but luckily the locals we were hanging around with got us out of there quickly, thank god cos it would not have ended well for me Mafia apparently
They have a train from the airport to the centre of Bangkok now which is probably the easiest way, but taxis are quite reasonably priced. The traffic in Bangkok is a nightmare though so don’t expect to get anywhere quickly. My favourite hotel in Bangkok is the Dusit Thani but depends how much you want to spend
Best advice I can give is contact our man on the Isle of Bute. He regularly travels to Thailand and the Far East. He might even be in the travel business. Goes under the handle of "Tube of lies' on here.

Looked at the train and think that looks the best option and the most straightforward. If I want to sit in traffic I drive 5 minutes down the road and onto the M62

Piece of pee to travel about these days Canty, even in the most random remote places with bad reps generally.
Been to Bangkok a few times and it isn't uncommon for a taxi to decide he is taking you via his friends suit shop on route which can be quite annoying at times but the costs for taxis are dirt cheap anyway.
Patpong market is a must for pure entertainment, even with the missus and Khao San road is a little more touristy but still very entertaining.
Much preferred Krabi to Phuket and defo hire mopeds to explore as they are cheap and very easy to handle.
Malaysia is awesome and one of my faves though i did miss an internal flight due to being in the jungle and getting caught in KL traffic on the way to the airport.

Yes, I do fix far east tours, but not so much Thailand - mainly Philippines and South Korea, as the speciality, but Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos too. Bangkok is a great place especially at night. Spangles mentions Dust Thani, which is a Thai brand. They have a hotel in Manila which I recently used, even though we have a condo there, just so we could enjoy the luxury experience. We put a lot of our guests there, so we were looked after. In Bangkok - you must go to the Khao San Road at night! Fantastic food and bars.

That's the trouble with Kuala Lumpur - its airport is miles from the city. You get a good view of the football stadium along the way, then the Grand Prix circuit.
I go to Thailand every winter. From the airport into the city is easy by the airport raillink and skytrain. If you want "nightlife" book a hotel near NANA station on Sukhumvit road, easy from airport just get rail link to the end then change to Skytrain (need separate tickets).
Dont change money before you go, take Sterling and change at airport next to the rail link (better rate if £50 notes).
Thai trains are good but very slooooow - can get overnight sleeper pretty cheap.
Hi RJC, an uncle of mine visited Vietnam and Cambodia last year, he reckons the Buses are good enough and cheap.
Take Sterling and exchange in situ.
Let your bank know if you'll be using a card in those countries or it may keep getting blocked.
Cash machines can be slow to work.
Have a goodun.
Thanks for the replies guys, I'll see what rooms are on offer near NANA as pitbk suggested and I know you can get overnight buses for dirt cheap which may come in handy. My manager also went to Vietnam last year said it was great.
Looking on various websites many say that Angkor Wat in Cambodia requires at least 3 days to experience it so will have to take that into consideration as want to see quite a few of the different temples.
