Players are allowed to speak out.

The notion they should sit down and shut up when they’ve clearly been promised one thing and that promise broken doesn’t wash anymore.

I’m fully behind Dembele on this, the fans reaction days it all too, no one is really angry with him, he’s given everything he could and deserves his move ffs.

when he signed he will have been told its a platform to develop and then get a move.

hes french and in come lyon, of course he wants to go.

he is injured a lot as well we should take the money but in my opinion celtic have truly bawsed up this window.

He said Lawwell is so fat that you can’t see his eyes when he smiles.

What's he been promised though?

Is it ok for Dembele to break his promise to us?

Like I say, I've no issue with him wanting to go but this is petulant from him. If he didn't want to be here until 2020 then he should've thought about that when signing the contract.

Can't believe people are annoyed at us not being a selling club and holding onto our best cb and best cf

our entire transfer policy is promising players a chance to develop and move to a bigger league, its been that way for years.

i dont expect he is lying about it and its made me rethink boyatas agents comments about promises as well.

i dont want unhappy players joe. not good foe the squad.

As for speaking out in public.. I'd see your point had Celtic released a statement saying he's staying etc. People are unhappy in work all the time, but most don't go ranting on social media as they leave themselves open to disciplinary procedures etc.

Trying to negotiate a transfer on Twitter is unprofessional. More unprofessional than what he's claiming Celtic have 'promised' him.

He's undermined his own position and that of our negotiating position, so he's potentially jeopardised his own transfer

This is why it's such a mess.

Lyon will try low balling us again and use this public dummy spitting as leverage. Lawwell won't budge unless he's promised a potential massive payout in the future, if it isn't upfront. Made negotiating much trickier.

Which has made the possibility of him staying more of a reality and then we're stuck with someone who doesn't want to be here. If his form dips, then he can say goodbye to any big move in the future.

Celtic are well within their right to hold out for what they value him at. He signed a contract with the club and if he doesn't like it, then tough.

I’d also question why, with an OF game 2 days away, he is up posting stuff at 3am.

if our policy is to offer players a chance and then sell on do u not think others will look at the boyata and dembele situation and think we are full of it? of course they will.

we now have 2 unhappy players, not good.

We’re talking about a boy from France who’s come up here for next to nothing, scored numerous important goals in big games and generally been a terrific player.

He’s about to bring in a vast sum of money and don’t forget when this all happened in January Rodgers himself said he thinks Moussa was given promises that haven’t been kept. Lawwell is at it again, he’s realised fans will be raging with him after this window and is trying to burn players out of a move they deserve.

He's in danger of ruining his reputation with he Celtic fans if this turns messy/he stays and acts a mope.

He's got that in him too with the amount of games he's not bothered in.

Hopefully none of this happens.. happy to see him go if we get the right money for him, and reinvest a large chunk of it (). And happy to see him stay if he plays to this potential and stays injury free.

I suspect both were tood, when they signed their contracts with the club, that they'd be sold on in the future.. but at the right price.

Or Lyon are trying to lowball us and he's holding out for what he believes Dembele is worth?

I thought most French press were quoting a £15m bid?

It was when that number was reported, rather than the 20/22.5 firgure that Celtic apparently rejected the offer.

I think the fact both the French and UK media are reporting fees of around £20 million says they’re not trying to lowball us.

He’s not in danger of ruining anything, except maybe with the more fickle fan.

He’s not the type to sit and mope, he was slaughtered last January and got his head down and had a good end to the season.

The notion he’s not interested in a lot of games, his style makes him look a bit laid back but because he doesn’t run around like dug chasing a baw like Griffiths doesn’t mean he’s not interested.

what is the right price?

9 million for a guy in the last year of his contract in scotland?

20 million - a record transfer fee?

behave.
