Drogba wasn’t a consistent goal scorer, so it’s not that surprising.

a goal every 2 games for chelsea despite injuries and ACON, great goalscorer. Plus lots of assists
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well his record wasn't once every two games.

And has been pointed out he had two very good seasons and the rest mediocre in front of goals

I’d be surprised if he got 30. But 20 isn’t unreasonable.

Overall he will end up about 27/28 ish region, 20 premier league goals isn't that much of a stretch, but overall from 50 or so games that we will play more than likely given he will be our most played outfield player isn't great.

We just need to wait until a better player becomes available.

No chance how often do players get 30 league goals? Its rare enough and Lukkaku isnt good enough to do it

I’d be shocked if Lukaku got 30 league goals. As kneerash said how often does that really happen?

To put it into context, the two best strikers in the league and in the top 5 in the world, harry Kane and Aguero. Kane has managed it just once before, which was last season, and aguero has never managed to do it.

I’d eat my hat if Lukaku did.

According to transfermarkt 33/104 of Drogba’s Premier League goals were game winners, Lukaku 25/104. Not bad from Lukaku’s point of view IMO. Additionally Kane has 31/110 and Aguero 38/146.

Against Top 6 in Premier League:
Drogba: 21 in 51 games
Lukaku: 16 in 57 games

Not exactly miles between them and Lukaku could still get better. Of course not many players in history can match Drogba for big goals in big knockout competition games but purely in terms of the Premier League, he’s not far off the great man.

Oh I’m sorry once every 2.17 games and how many assists?
Again why do people keep going on about seasons? He only played 30 games a couple times I believe.

You seem to not take on anything anyone else says on any topic u discuss.

Drogba won Chelsea a CL. His theatrics were also amazing.

CL is a tall order, but Lukaku could at least try to feign death by electrocution.

Where have 30 league goals come from?
He said 30 in the season which lets be fair is more than achievable for him. He got i believe 26 last season

I would be happy with lukaku scoring a lot for utd this year, seems to paper over a lot of the cracks.

Hi Dr. Nick,

Can you elaborate on what you mean cracks? What do you see as our problems?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lack of creativity, lack of tempo, lack of a style of play, a striker that will score in low pressure moments but not when needed in big games, frailties at the back, lack of improvement when it looks like chelsea, spurs, liverpool and even arsenal are looking to improve and creating their own style of play.

Probably more.

Bit of a tricky one, I saw you against leicester, lucky to win, then the two losses, but didn't see yesterday. I don't think Utd have a bit of a weaker(or untrusted) squad so when CL and cups come around they might struggle even more.

For that reason I reckon 5th.

Add that to the similarities this season to mourinhos last season at Chelsea.

Not really no, as I feel he's the one who is implementing this style (or lack there of) of play. Has alienated some of the players, and is partly to blame for the lack of squad depth (rashford, martial, herrera all seem to have regressed).

I see that you are trying to do though and good try

And we were not talking about last year, liverpool, chelsea, spurs and eventually arsenal will be improved this season.

for the points of view. I usually appreciate getting perspectives from other teams' supporters.

Based on how flawed you see our squad in just about every facet assessable; and on how you see this season transpiring, you must be in complete admiration for the manager's efforts last season, right?

You asked me to elaborate on papering over the cracks. style of play was included in that. I enjoy talking footy, but can't take that long out of my day to write pages on it.

Where do you see them finishing?
