How so?
Pogba, never hit the heights and looks lost.
Matic, hasn't played well for over 2 year now.
Fred, Has not impressed me so far.
I think fellaini is underrated though, say what you will but a great option to have off the bench.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Matic has always been slightly suspect, but Fred's a tricky little player and Pogba has all the tools to be the most dynamic CM in the league (Juventus Pogba would be).
Also slight bias because I really rate Ander Herriera. Solid gritty player who has a magic pass in his locker, amazing squad player to have. Would take him in a heartbeat at Chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just don't get the pogba thing. Thought he was the 4th best midfielder at juve.
Just having Xhaka there should put us 20th tbh.
I see that point, he's a luxury player that needs protection, but he's got a spontaneous quality that's very valuable because he can do just about everything.
Can burst through the middle with pace and strength. Can play killer passes. Very effective shot outside the box (United don't utilize that nearly enough). Gets up and down the pitch no problem. Strong in the tackle. Everything's there, just lacks consistency.
Pogba showed at the WC how good he is/can be. If he was playing under Pep I genuinely think he would be the best player in the league.

Are you on about Pogba or Xhaka here m8 ?
Pogba needs Kante to be great
Only joking off course . I have watched a bit of Pogba whilst at Juve. He was very impressive then, good long range accurate passes and had a very good shot on him too !!!! At Utd he’s shown only glimpses so far. I don’t know if it’s Jose mismanaging him, or if he’s under pressure to perform to justify his price tag, or a big burden put on his shoulders at a such young age.
I would have thought that playing for France is probably easier for him, because he’s not the only star player in that team.
Without any exaggeration at all Neves and Moutinho are a better midfield than a few of those you mention.

Milner, the midfielder in zimmerframe and Winjaldum,
The worst duo ever in the middle of the park.
Two home games and they looked good, now they are taunted as the best midfield ?
Not even tested
Wait until mid Jan, to make articles like this one?
Its same as Liverpool fans crowning themselves as champions already..in September ?
Anyone remember Hull City few years back when they were topping the league?
How the rest of the season found them floundering!

Gap will be fixed in the next game
Just don't get concussed, looking up!
Pogba needs Kante to be great
---------------------------------------------------------
That's kind of true, he needs a quality runner next to him (Vidal was another example), but it shouldn't diminish his individual quality.
Our entire team needs Jorginho to dominate possession, doesn't take anything away from the individual quality of the players around him.
Yeah Pogba benefited from having runners alongside him in the French side too with Kante & Matuidi/Tolisso.
Fred seems like a runner but yet to establish himself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not in my book, but i've said that on countless other threads. He fitted in for sure. didn't stand out. 7th or 8th best player in their team imo.
I'd say only Varane, Mbappe and Kante outperformed him for France - and Kante had a nightmare in the final.
Wouldn't say nightmare but was poor.
I don't think a lot of the team were good in the final and if not for the odd decision and luck it could have been a very different game.
Varane, umtiti, kante, matuidi, mbappe, griezmann and pavard for me were better or atleast as good for me. But tomato, tomatoe.
Either way, everyone agrees he has skill and talent, but you shouldn't need 2/3/4 other class midfielders to have to harness that.
Pogba i thought was excellent for Juventus and was excellent at the world cup, for United he's been $hit but then to be bluntly honest name one United player who has actually stood out under Mourinho and been consistently good? Only De Gea but that's normal as he is the best keeper in the world.
I could not name one United player i really rate under Mourinho, they have some very good players but under Jose they all look so average, Rashford + Martial looked quality before Jose
( bar de gea obviously btw )
Would like to know how much juve you watched oscar mate? His stats are near enough exactly the same as when he was at juve as they are at utd.
