He’s a lovely little player who offers something different and in my opinion should be starting games.
a good option off the bench for me, who's place does he take?
He`s looking sharp and should start more games, his work rate and tenacity has been missing from the team at times this season.
He plays way better when he comes off the bench than he does starting
He does play better of the bench but will need to start a few to keep him motivated.
Here's hoping Lamela is over his injury problems, real and imaginary, hip I think it was, and is getting back to top form.
He will have a spell coming off the bench before getting a start. Ramp up gently.

Lucas has been one of our best players this season
He has one 6/10 game and you want to drop him
From the 3 that started at the weekend Son should be the one dropped if any, and that should be for Dele not Lamela imo
I would actually drop Eriksen. He has been very poor by his standards.

That makes no sense at all.
4 goals in his last 4 league games. Lamela starts next league game for me. Always been a huge fan, even when I got ribbed by that f*** donkey chicken on here. Would drop Dier and have 1 defensive midfielder, with a Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Lucas and Kane all in front.

Don't think we have a DM good enough for that to work, we'd be pretty exposed

Don't forget all the machinations last couple of seasons with his "hip problem". trips to Roma and Buenos Aires and elsewhere.
Now that his head and hip are straight, Pochettino is treating him gently. Confidence building.
Starts will come in due course ..... but trust in Pochettino not to rush things here.
Yep while all our CBs have lost a few

Thought he was okay in the first half but he is nowhere near his best but I do think he is a slow starter going by previous seasons.
Our main striker isn't functioning so play Eriksen, Lamela, Son, Moura and Alli up front. Kane cannot continue to play like this and keep his place.
I remember back in the 69/70 season Spurs' main men weren't playing well so Bill Nicholson dropped them, names like Jimmy Greaves, The Late Alan Gilzean, Mike England and others were dropped and from then on we picked up. I've said before that when our main striker is missing sitters it has a drop down effect on morale for the rest of the team so Poch must be bold.
So play Lamela from the start.

Where is his best position? On the right of a forward 3 or as one of a central midfield 3?

I agree. He’s so one footed that out there he has the whole pitch to his left to roam into.
Although we need a faster RB than Trippier behind him to give the width

Hopefully he can stay fit. Those positions behind the striker is the only area we’ve got some good strength in depth. We can genuinely have competition for places and also afford players a rest if necessary.
