Yes please

Cant really see it myself, but either would send out a message and raise our profile internationally to another level. Would they fit in? Not sure Rooney has the stamina these day for one of the wide forward roles and he wouldn't really fit in elsewhere. Ibra could play that central forward role but would he do the other stuff to support the attack that Bonatini and Jiminez do? Maybe he wouldn't need to if he was scoring for fun. But what message does it send out to the incumbents and how will they perform when the superstar bogs off back to Uncle Sam?

I just think its too simplistic to say we aren't scoring enough goals so lets sign a goalscorer. We have matched Man City, Man Utd, Spurs and Arsenal in games this season and we have done so because all 11 players on the pitch played their part really well.

If we dropped one of our forwards and played an out and out scorer we would lose more than we would gain. These players may put away chances created for them on a plate (and Ibra and Rooney aren't as young as they used to be and would need that) but we would not have the all round game to create chances and keep the defence guessing. We aren't yet up there with the top teams in the division and we need all 11 players to do a job all over the pitch. Jiminez has 5 assists now this season and his all round game is top class. If we take away those assists and dropped him because he hasn't scored many, I don't think that would make us a better team.

Not in a million years, but thanks anyway.

Our problem right now, is not taking the chances we create. Yes, we may well go for another striker in January, but if we keep creating the chances, our lads will put them away. I like the way our front three rotate and Cavaleiro doesn't miss many chances when he's in the box. So for now, start the same team against Huddersfield, bar any injures we may pick up during the break. We have good players who can come on and it seems Cavaleiro can't quite play more than 65-70 minutes, so who better to come on than Jota and/or Traore.

Nuno is determined to stick with his preferred 3-4-3 system, so let's be patient, as it's slightly more difficult at the moment, playing that style in the Premiership.

Don't think Jimenez has been the reason we don't/can't score goals, he has been very good but the bigger issue has been the support act of mostly Jota and Costa letting us down badly in front of goal.

Hopefully with Cav and showing once again that he is the best of the three now fit and in the side things will change.

Wouldn't be a bad thing to have one of the two mentioned but it won't happen

This is the type of ridiculous post i’d hope wouldn’t happen

Let’s just support the team, and let Nuno address the problems

Can you not see that our style of play doesn’t suit either of the players you’ve mentioned ?

Didnt Everton sign that American dude a few years back, hadn't played in England before but did well, cant remember his name (Brian?), will have to ask me woman.

Keane, Lampard, Henry, they've all done it so not so daft a question. Jack Price anyone??

I do think that one of these days our lads are going to click and we'll wallop someone by 4 or 5, Jota and Costa just need to get the first under their belts and and they'll be away Im sure. Thats not to say that some additional firepower wouldn't go amiss but at the moment I dont see it as a burning issue and wouldnt be amazed if the club just wait until the right guy(s) is (are) available. Im sure if they get the chance to sign one their targets they'll take it, be it in January or next summer. But there's certainly no panic to do so at the moment.

the system in which two of our main forwards havent scored by mid-november ?
anyway,i think both are great players, more than good enough to cope with any system.

Wolfgang. Players come over to the USA to see out their careers and I can't think of any that have returned to Europe. They don't necessarily do it for money either as the MLS has a wage cap system, but both the above mentioned would, as designated players, get a little more them the $503,000 maximum wage salary allowed for squad players. The minimum salary, by the way is only $54,000, just over $1,000 a week.

Oldgoldilox, I think they guy you're referring to was Brian McBride, who played about 7 or 8 games. They also got Landon Donovan for a while.

Jack price earns $407,499.96

Giovinco earns just over 7 million a year.

The salary cap is a complicated system and like I stated above, designated players are not bound by salary caps.
