I had a quick read and the quote is actually a bit different. I know it may not mean much, but what he actually said isn't racist as you've portrayed it.
“That’s why sport is amazing. You live with different people. My kids go to the school with Indian people, black people, normal people, from everywhere. Today this kind of thing happens but we have to defend and protect.”
Commas make a big difference in meaning, yet the nuance is often overlooked.

Can imagine you giving yourself a pat on the back each time you think you’re goading fans when you say Pep is a racist.
Not only that but you’re skirting of the actual issue of reported racism by footballers is shocking, you don’t think it’s an issue? Snivelling excuse of a man. If you had a friend/family member who was black/asian and they got racially abused you’d turn round and say ‘it’s not a big problem though’?
