Who’s been the best Chelsea goalkeeper in your lifetime? Cech

Who’s been the goalkeeper you’ve had great expectations of and they’ve disappointed? Courtois towards the end of his time at Chelsea and his attitude was more of a disappointment.

Who’s been your favourite goalkeeper? (not always necessarily the best) Hilario because he was Hilarious.

Hilario.

We have had some corking GK's in my time. I'm quite happy for Cech to be the top dog as his numbers and stats do support that. A big-up to all the other good uns that we had particularly Bonetti and Eddie.

Honorary mentions also to Steve Francis, Ed de Goye, Petar Borota, Dave Beasant, Dimitri Kharin and John Phillips RIP. Tommy Hughes however, can fack right off!!

Cech. The best in the Premier League has ever seen imho. I reckon the head injury had an effect on him, wtf was Hunt thinking, and moving to Arsenal cost him more clean sheets. Best I've seen no doubt. Munich 2012 he got a touch on every penalty. Unreal. Thanks for the memories Big Pete.

You forgot Derek Richardson '69
Seriously i've never felt more confidence in a keeper be it club or country. Cech at his peak was phenomenal

Best is Cech, no arguments.

The high expectations guy who disappointed has to be Courtois. There's plenty of other keepers I could name, Bosnich wasn't a bad shout, but when you figure just how good Courtois is, to leave how he did considering the sacrifices we made to keep him another 5/10 years there's no-one who rivals him when it comes to disappointment.

My favorite Chelsea keeper (and just in general) is Cudicini. Pretty much mini-Buffon in terms of shot stopping, absolutely loved Cudicini as a young fan. One of the greatest servants in Chelsea history, and why do I say that? Was the stand out performer in the season we finished 4th in 2002/03. When people talk about those individuals who formed the butterfly effect of Roman choosing to buy us - Hoddle, Guilit, Zola, Gronkjaer, etc... Cudicini is a very significant and largely overlooked figure in that respect. And gracefully stepped aside for the younger, quicker, better keeper in Cech with not a single word of protest. He's a Chelsea legend to me and I make no apologizes for saying that

Definitely Petr. He just looked unbeatable in the early years. Great servant and his attitude and performance in Munich was utterly magnificent. Thanks Pete.

But The Cat is still my personal favourite - very safe hands and incredible agility. Local kid, first game skinny little kid aged 17, first choice from then on. Thanks Pete.

I forgot about Carlo Cudicini

Cech for sure, I didn't think I'd see better than Cudicini anytime soon, Boy was I wrong.

The GK I had great expectations for was Courtois.. it was dream scenario.. Cech was aging and Courtois was 22 and had developed into a seemingly world class keeper at Atletico.. In my eyes we were getting a world class keeper for nothing.

4 years and 2 PLs later and I feel really underwhelmed by Courtois.. I feel like he dropped a gear at Chelsea.. He had some cracking games but I still feel he let us down on a number of occasions especially off the field in the media.
