Total joke against a team like Dortmund.
Levy & Pochettino need to go into the January transfer window NOW, if they want any silverware this season.

Llorente and Moura should be fit to start for most of Kane's injury. Then Son to return.

Do people think we need to sign someone permanently when in 4 weeks we could have Lucas Son and Llorente all competing for front spots?

I think this is a very good point.

My only issue is that the injuries/absences literally coincide with every tournament we are in. Very likely to be season defining and not in a good way. But I'm not sure buying a striker is the answer. I think Dele, Lamela, Lucas (when back) could interchange. I don't actually think Llorente playing is as bad as some make out.

Yes mate we do need to sign someone permanently. We have needed a proper HK stand in for ages now. Son isn’t that person because he plays most weeks. We need a player of quality who will come in and play in the 1st team if need be, but also be back up to Harry Kane. Timo Werner is the perfect solution in an ideal world, but spurs won’t pay the required money. We most definitely need a new forward player this window. Even if it’s just a loan deal ( Higuain ) , we should be all over hijaking that if we can’t get a player like Werner. Short term striker like Higuain or long term striker come wing forward like Werner.

My theory as well. Just doing a panic buys would be silly. Llorente in my opinion will do OK, starting with Fulham at the weekend. It could be the making of him at Spurs a run of games.

Wouldn’t be panic buys though sandy. We have needed a solid HK stand in for ages now. Llorente is good for your Fa cup games v Rochdale and Tranmeree etc, but he’s just not good enough anymore to score the required goals for us against the likes of Chelsea etc in one of the most important games in years. We need a forward signing mate, it’s not a panic buy.

Llorente scored I think 1 premier league goal in a tear. Wether he’s started many is irrelevant. When he has been given the opportunity, be it a rare start or 10 min cameo, he has failed to score any goals in the top flight. Scoring a hatrick against Tranmere is a lot different than trying to replicate that in the premier league at 33. Striker is a must, no excuses

He’s Excellent although I think it’s 18 months to early for him.

Potentially mate.

Trained a lot with the first team already. For me he’s very Kane like.

I’ll dig his stats out.

To be fair Don, he has hardly had any game time in the Prem, he deserves his chance of a few games in a row, now that Kane is injured. Surely you would not deny him that. He may just surprise us all. Bit harsh to just dismiss Llorente, and think that by just going out and buying another striker, they are suddenly just going to come straight in and start banging in hat-tricks. Football don`t work like that.

Sandy, a player of quality might not come in and bang hatricks, but he will come in and do a job for us up top whilst we are in this crisis which it is. We are potentially going to have 6 weeks without Son and 2 months without Kane. That’s 2 of our most lethal goal scoring threats gone, and you feel Llorente can do this job ? Sorry mate, not a chance

Lovely stats. Although having to rely on a 17 year old kid in the most important months of our season is going to far for me.,

Throwing a 16 year old kid in to lead the line could make him or break him and go with the latter.

can at least have him on the bench surely. would get his confidence up too, most important thing for a striker

Don, we really do not know if any striker would come in and hit the ground running, pure speculation. Recent history of Spurs buying strikers is the last thing they will actually do is come in and score goals.

Don - you say hijack the Higuain move. Do you have any idea the amount of money they're paying for him?! It's crazy...

He's had a sheite season too.

posted on 17/1/19

Well let’s wait and see Ginge when Higuain will inevitably bag the winner that knocks us out the cup, then we will see what opinion you have then. Chelsea do things in the market when needed and are rectifying a weakness. We fiddle around like amateurs and end up paying the price. All I’m saying is, he’s the type of quality we should be looking at.

posted on 17/1/19

All I'm saying is we can't afford effectively £500k per week for 6 months when we'll have Kane back in 1.5 months

posted on 17/1/19

Plus he'd choose Chelsea anyway
