I think for most the sole concentration is the remainder of the season.

Would be good to be in a position to plan properly for things like CL qualifiers, but that's not the case just now.

I'll worry about CB's in the summer. BR should have someone in the scouting department worrying about it just now to be taken care of in the summer.

All that matters just now is the next 5 months to be fair.

If he does want to go in the summer then he'll go with everyone's blessing I'm sure.

I imagine Lennon and Clarke would be the next on the list for the job.

Wouldnt be against a change of manager, then you weigh up potential replacements n it looks pretty grim

out strategy is pretty pathetic, we knew boyata wanted to go so instead of having a replacement lined up we let his contract run down, then signed a cb on loan.

so next year we are short both of them.

He did say it is very difficult to get players in of the quality we need in January.. we are ok at CB until then .. he also said it is a position that MUST be sorted out then..

He did say that Boyata and Benkovic are first choice for the rest of the season so to get the quality they require it just isn't possible in January as they are first choice and anyone coming in won't want to sit on bench.

Still though, it's a bad strategy but as has been said above, I think for all of us our focus is on just winning the league this season.

If we got a treble treble, along with 2 out of 3 successful CL qualifications BR may feel that's all he can do and what a record that would be to leave. However...................he's not going to get as cushty a job anywhere else and could well be out on his errse somewhere else after a few months.

Not so sure he's for the off, but I think this is just symptomatic of his Plan A and nothing else approach where he just doesn't recognise the need for splashing out in defence.

It's a major failing in my view but how could we pretend to be shocked. It's been the same here for nearly three years.

See I don't think he did.

His contract has been allowed to run down and he gets into the Belgian side and whilst not doing anything spectacular, didn't really do anything much wrong at the tournament.

So he's now thinking where the fwck do I go from here and people start tapping him up while his does the job he's paid to do and tries to line up a decent deal for his career seeing as we don't rate him that much.

Despite it not happening he knuckles down and just gets on with it.

I'll have that any day over a very talented player who has been given a bumper contract and couldn't care less.
