It's not based on facts though is it. There have been zero retrospective bookings for diving since Niasse (over a year ago) and yet on the same thread you accept diving happens all the time but then lament Salah not getting booked.

In fact diving is that common and there are so few bookings for diving really the question should be "why do those players get booked on the basis of parity?".

Arsenal won a game of football, I get it and your tail is up once again, but you're terrible at this. Sorry.

When are people gna ask why sakho is kicking him from behind again when hes got his back to goal and his arms all over him reaches over his shoulder from behind and pulls him back?

Its a foul every day outside the box, you only have to breathe on Hazards neck from behind and hes going down but when its hazard its clever play getting his body between ball and defender etc.

I think as a fan you need to take a look at yourself in these situations and stop worrying about others.

I used to find Ronaldo’s diving embarrassing and I said as much. I do the same with any player, regardless of who they’re playing for.

For that reason, this whataboutery from some Liverpool fans is really no defence at all.

Yes, most players do it these days. But it’s hard to see why Salah is bearing the brunt of criticism. He seems to be doing it more often than most - maybe that is just because he has more opportunity, or maybe it’s because of direct instruction (as one LFC fan suggested). Who knows, but it’s logical that we see a lot of criticism towards him.

The Liverpool fans who object to this criticism, I guess I’d one thing.

How did you feel when the Ronaldos and Drogbas of this world were doing it week in, week out. Did you say that ‘they’re all at it’ etc or did you have a moan? Only you will know - some of you will be consistent, some of you will be hypocrites, as with any fanbase.

This is, of course, if you accept that he is cheating. Those who are making excuses about needing to show he’s been fouled or arguing that an ever so slight touch/pull is a foul, I can’t really see your view and think you’re probably incapable of a reasoned discussion on this. The law is quite clear to what constitutes simulation and contact does not preclude it from having occurred.

All of this said, I can of course understand why forums like this descend into petty arguments. There’s a lot of hypocrisy around and some people just love a chance to have a dig at a rival. But as I said at the start, I guess you have to take a look at yourself as an individual rather than a group on these debates.
