This Everton defence can be got at and their attack is nothing special. Play as we did last night and we should get the 3 points, play as we did against Leicester and who knows.

Richarlison seems to be their main danger man. Keep him quiet and they will be struggling for goals.

I suspect Everton will finish in the top 8 despite their form being a bit in and out. Question is whether we can finish in the top 8 also and maybe keep Everton out of 7th. Another 6 pointer game in terms of that mid table mini league.

Like us Everton would like to sign a centre forward this week but are also in danger of losing a good player or two. PSG evidently want Gueye and Milan have made a bid for Lookman

Anything other than a defeat and I will be happy

I’d take a point away from home, but I’m also greedy and want all 3

As my current 'signifcant other' is an Evertonian, I've seen quite a few of their games this season and although they play some nice stuff and have some very good players, they undoubtedly have a soft underbelly.

Defensively they are slow and I think we'll get at them with Jimi and Jota. If we can play like we did last night we'll smash 'em. Which will be a problem as she's got me tickets in the home end, God help me if get another last minute winner

Just take a camera you can hang around your neck, wear a MAGA hat, buy a half and half scarf, talk in an American accent shouting things like 'FOOTBALL!!!' and 'YEEHAW!!!' repeatedly and then cheer every single goal.

You'll either be left well alone or beaten up; but at least it won't be for being a Wolves fan.

I notice Everton's next match after us, home to Man City, has been brought forward to the Wednesday because of City's cup game. Is that likely to have any effect on the team they select for us? Probably not.

Doubt it, they will see us as their direct rival for seventh spot i suspect so will be focusing on us more than City.

We should field the same line up minus Saiss for Boly.

Noticeable every week that Boly and even Saiss when played there see the ball far more than Coady or Bennett do and wonder whether Nuno would actually have liked to replace Bennett initially with another ball playing defender.

Would be harsh to drop Bennett though

I think initially Dendonker was brought in to replace Bennett. But the latter has proved his worth in that position and ironically, it's turned out for the best, as Dendonker is now playing well. His midfield position has freed up Neves more and has helped with Moutinho's assists recently.

I do hope that Nuno switches his formations a little to suit whoever we're up against. 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 seems to be working well right now.

3-4-3 won't return any time soon given those chosen have all struggled to make it work up front

Hard to put a formation on our set up now really, was referred to as 3-4-1-2 but it is pretty fluid and probably best referred to as 3-5-2

Anyone dropped from last night's lineup can feel very hard done by. But if Boly comes back, someone has to give way, or maybe Boly doesn't come back. Nuno's about to earn his wad.

looks more like 3-1-4-2 to me, Neves is the one in more ways than one, err, now I've confused myself

posted on 30/1/19

I think Saiss has done well as cover for Boly but I feel Boly is a better defender and a much better ball player. Saiss never looks far away from a yellow card to me whereas Boly seems much more controlled. His red card was a joke and after an initial period of looking unsettled he has settled into his role as our best all round defender.
Harsh on Saiss but for me Boly has to play on Saturday.

Yeah probably closer than 3-4-1-2

Pointless talking about formations. Sounds like old train-spotters discussing wheel-formations of locos - driving wheels and bogies. 4-4-0 and the like.

The team will be picked to play regardless of what we suggest. Just wait for the team selection and enjoy the game.
