Agree on Gray, nothing but a speed merchant at the minute. Could not believe he took the shot rather than look up and square it to Maddison.

You guys were impressive yesterday. Find it hard that you struggle to beat the poor sides but maybe you are set to counter and poor sides won’t let you hit them on the break.

I like this Leicester side. Great group of young players with some real potential to them.

Keep a hold of them for the not so distant future and I think you guys could be the best out of the top6.

What do you mean it’s hard to believe?!

To be honest Nev I’ve always wanted to believe in what Puel is doing but it was actually a conversation with Arro (yes really) that started to change my mind a little bit

Don’t get me wrong - puel needs to improve things against the weaker teams - but he’s turning things around slowly but surely from an attacking perspective. I can see what he’s doing with the young players - I can also see that in his mind, he doesn’t believe there is the quality in that squad, attacking wise, for what he wants to do

Looking at the stats, we have plenty of shots every game. We get into the final third no problem. We battered Southampton (even before the sending off) but the quality isn’t there (in central midfield particularly) to make it count. That’s where Tielemans comes in

We still have some capability for counter attacking. When teams don't come at us we play slow ponderous possession football giving the opposition plenty of time to get in good defensive shape, so struggle to break teams down; we also don't press high up the pitch.

I expect us to have decent games at home to United and Spurs then struggle against Palace and Brighton at home.

But don’t get me wrong - puel has still got plenty of room for improvement.

Really please you highlighted Gray.
Not the first time he has done this.Is he greedy or brainless?.I think both.
He doesnt look up and doesnt look to bring his team mates into the game when they have a better option.
He should be really taken to task on this as he is not helping himself. He is not maturing as a player, and sadly has not progressed anything like he should have.He has great potential , but sadly far too selfish.

He hasn't really progressed like we all would like him to have.
He knows what he can be but needs to take a step back and have a look at his short-comings . . . . . . . . . . . . and learn from them.
He might be believing his own hype at the moment?

Play for the team Gray.

I’ve given up on Gray. We shouldn’t offer him a new contract - I’d like us to sell him. And I’d like the £5m we paid Birmingham City back on the grounds of the trade description act

Is he ever going to? I can't believe that the coaching staff aren't trying to get him to be more of a team player so the omens don't look good.

Strangely enough the great solo goal he scored at Wolves won't help with that; he needs to understand that an assist every three/four matches is worth far more than two Hollywood goals per season.

Puel is a very good tactician. He is a smart coach but your team don't have the players to play on the front foot and pressing. You need midfielders who can pass the ball quick and between the lines.

DJ knows that, he was just being pedantic as the OP should have read “I agree with BS” shock

Generally agree Nev, except for the fact that the tactics didn’t cause the first goal.

Forthe first 10 minutes we were all over the place. Evans was getting pulled out of position almost constantly, and Chilwell had 2 players to mark.

As a result, we were always going to concede. The goal didn’t come down the right, but it did come as a result of our defence looking nervy and out of position. If Liverpool had been on their game we would have been 3-0 down and out of it 10 mins in.

Now, that sounds like me being critical of Puel. It’s not. It’s just acknowledging that what we tried to do didn’t work.

Puel then deserves teal credit for fixing it. And fast.

Once Albrighton switched to a wide position, he and Pereira linked up delightfully. I can’t beleive I’m saying this but Gray gave more cover to Chilwell, and we settled.

I can’t beleive I’m going to say this, but Ndidi and Mendy then ran the show. We were closing the space in midfield, pressing without losing shape.

I can’t beleive I’m going to say this, but it was a masterclass front Puel. Our defence and midfield worked in tandem to totally nullify Liverpool. The best team in the league! We looked like we had shape, and the ability to cause them problems.

It was near perfect after the first 10.

But if we are to praise Puel (and we should) we should also be constructive about the mess that was the first 10.

Ndidi. Oh Ndidi, where have you been hiding? Back to his absolute best last night. He’s not become a bad player overnight. He’s class. I hope Puel can continue to get more from him.

Welcome back Wilfred.

Not sure I agree with that KTF1

My thoughts on yesterday:

- I feared the worst when they scored with their first attack. So credit to the team and Puel for calming the initial storm then slowly swinging the game in our direction.
- The back 5 were terrific.
- Liverpool really struggled with the conditions and made a lot of errors because of them. But only clearing our penalty area at half time was very disappointing and looked rather desperate.
- Maguire's potential red and Ricardo's potential penalty concession: I'm not convinced by either but I've seen them given. In fact this was a rare match when I felt a referee was being overly generous to us. Particularly rare considering we were playing a big club.

The team Puel has built?! Hardly. Most of the players were here before he was....

It's easy to forget that Mendy was here before Puel.
