I think our play off chances are slim as it is. If we lose we are seven points behind having played an extra game. We would need a five or six game unbeaten run to make up that sort of gap.

However a win will mean we are only three behind i.e touching distance.

I don't think the team does pick itself at the moment. Janko or Darikwa; Watson or Yacob; one or two strikers; Osborn or Cash (or Appiah). And what formation.

I think there will be at least one surprise in our line up.

At least MON's options are all win-win. The changes young lampard will be contemplating are fraught with weakness

Darikwa at the moment, I think. Janko has been pretty inconsistent. I did often tag Darikwa with that label too but I think he is the safer bet at the moment.

Think Cash is very doubtful for this one. Appiah would be a surprise. I hope he makes the bench, though.

Watson will get the nod. MoN really trusts him.

Watson must be really impressing in training as Yacob seemed to be ahead of him in the pecking order under Karanka. Yacob probably brings more aggression but MoN obviously wants something in there that Watson provides better?

Well Watson has impressed in games as well to be honest. I think MON has Sir Brian's knack of not over-complicating things for players. He tells them what he wants them to do and tells them to make sure they do it well.

Well, he's certainly a more violent bet.

Darikwa isn't a crunching tackler, the two footed lunge that got him sent off was very out of character.

Yacob and Benaloune however are both hard men who will enjoy a hard tackle!

I don't share the optimism, I'm never optimistic in this fixture.
Important in the context of the season too, as said if we lose it becomes very difficult, if we manage 3 points then we can start to see if we can mix it up in the top 6 in a few weeks' time.

Yes, Darikwa generally tends to try and use his pace to intercept. He isn’t one to try and lunge in got the Valle if anything, he has been a little tentative at times in his Forest career. The tackle that got the red card at Reading wouldn’t have even raised an eyebrow when I used to play football!

Yes, Watson has the best experience to be the one to get on board with a manager’s game plan and do his best to make sure it is carried out on the pitch. Wouldn’t discount Yacob this season yet, or even Bridcutt. There could be a few twists and turns with form and injuries yet.

Bloke on the Terrace on RN at the weekend made a good point that MoN seems to have tightened up in the discipline side of things. Not had this many yellows and reds since BD was the manager. Not necessarily a bad thing as it shows the team is committed and playing on the edge. So hard to strike a balance. I think everyone likes seeing a Forest side that takes no prisoners and isn’t bullied. Just don’t want it to bite at the business end of the season for instance.

Robinson is on 9 bookings, for example. I think he would get the same two match ban for reaching 10 as Colback got? That would be a pain for MoN to sort out now he has restocked the CB’s and got Robinson back out in his best position at LB. Hoping that the passion remains but the focus is attended to just as much. Tonight is the kind of game where you could pick up a cheap booking.

Could be more of a concern for Derby, though, seeing as they have had 4 red cards at the CG in recent seasons...

I fancy a red card or two tonight. Benny (the loon), Milo, Watto, Colback, Robinson won't be taking prisoners.

Huddle(16)stone and his lachrymose mate will try to do likewise if they can get close enough to a Garibaldi shirt

Charlie Harrison, who suffered some atrocious behaviour earlier in the season, special guest at the match.

Apparently we'll be singing, 'What's it like to see a crowd?' to the Derby fans, which I think is a bit harsh.

Until recently, I believe they have had reasonable support, although I'm not sure as they never spoke about it.

Funny that you mention this, as I'm just about to 'approach them' on the subject.

Yes, that is a nice touch.

If you ask them about their crowds; don't forget to ask what they would be like if the town had to support two league clubs.

I think they may have a basketball team as well. Not sure.
