This was a game of two halves. First half we dominated but did not take our many chances. Going in at HT only 0-1 up was a premonition of disaster.
Sure, our defense was a total shambles second half, and they missed half-a-dozen really good chances to score.
But you have to think Pochettino is resting players and trying to deal with the thin squad that he has. KWP needs match practice, and where better to get it than against a relegation side?
Resting Toby might have been a mistake, but ......
If you don't score you don't win games!

Ted this is not fantasy football. Why do you give players match practice in must win games. Without a game for nearly three weeks, absolutely no need to change a defence that kept a clean sheet midweek at one of the top clubs in Europe.

It is so obvious what the problem is, constant fecking rotation of the defense.

But if you have a player, KWP, and you don't play him at all, he really doesn't count as a sqaud member.

Is it not possible for a reaction to just be measured and not so polorised? It doesn’t have to be either great or simply the worst ever....

We’re having a bad set of results domestally but balancing that with one of our best European runs, certainly in the last 30 years.

So the run is bad? So what? It’s the first real test of Poch - why can’t we stick with him and see how he gets on. This club, like any club, needs stability.

I don’t buy into the argument he must stay just “because he’s our best manager in a long time” but equally, a 2-3 month run of bad results shouldn’t mean ripping it all up.

And I know we can point to frustrations in previous seasons - but this is football - nothing is certain.

I’m not going to get into the arguments of whether we’re overachieving, or whether we should just be happy with what we’ve got - that’s nonsense - my argument however is that we’re not in disaster mode. Yes mistakes are being made both in and off the pitch, but the last 2-3 months do not vindicate chucking Poch.

Stick with the club, stick with the manager, ride this out. Absolutely criticise, but let’s stay reasoned. However, If it get no better over say a year, maybe then question things.

A reality check as well - if Poch goes I don’t see us getting a high profile manager in - it’s just not what we do, especially with the constraints on the club at the moment. It’ll likely be a young manager, with PL experience, who has worked with young players... Eddie Howe for example. And without debating the merits of EH, we’ll be building again, and going through this process again. It’s what we as a club are at the moment

I will repeat ... we are not having a bad run .... yes in the EPL we've lost matches we should have won, but we've also won a lot of matches by the odd goal that we should have not won.
And we are competing in the quarters of the BIG competition, the CL.
Over the past few years we have beaten Real Madrid, drawn with Barca a camp Nou, and beaten Dortmund twice.

So the lack of and top class bench has come home to roost these past few games. That is Levy's fault, nobody else's.

And all of that is due to Pochettino.
He's the damned best manager we've had in a long long time.
And if he decides to walk because of Levy's asinine policies, right into the bernabeu, I shall not blame him one bit!

It could be the new stadium, which btw looks mint, that's causing cash flow for transfer issues or perhaps the board feel the current squad is good enough as is?
