DL11, as a fanbase we do love our scapegoats (suppose that true of every fanbase, but it's still disappointing).

I miss the days when Ramires was the designated scapegoat. Was still annoying but at least most of the criticisms were on the money even if they were blown out of proportion. People don't even criticize Jorginho about the right things, it's SO irritating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much any striker here during the Torres era were scapegoated aswell, even Drogba to a certain extent

The sheer amount of people genuinely trying to argue he was better than Sturridge then Eto'o was mindblowing, i reckon if he stayed on for 14/15 people would have argued he was better than Costa as soon as his form dipped

Eto'o was like 10 goals of Nando's overall league record with like 89 games to spare

Please don't try and flannel me that Eto'o was good for us.

What's your name - Nick!

Tbf saying he was better than Torres doesn't really say good, Akinfenwa would been an upgrade on Nando

I said previously we should give him until next January so he can bring in his players and implement his style of play with our squad. But if we're unable to sign players and our current set of players are unable to play the style of football he wants them to play then he probablty does not have a future at this club.

I hope he turns things around. Maybe a full pre season with our current set of players would help but going by how we operate he may not last that long.

Btw I thought 32 year old Eto'o was good for us.

Eto’o scored a hat trick vs Utd. That was good enough alone

Get Bielsa in.

I can’t believe you can’t see that Kante still does what he’s always done only more. Focusing purely on which part of the pitch he occupies is just silly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he doesn't. Kante is wasted playing high up the pitch because that's not his strength. Why Sarri wants to put square pegs in round holes instead of changing his system I don't understand.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was constantly pressing high under Conte, case in point the two goals he scored against you guys at The Bridge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How many goals has Kante scored for Chelsea aside from that? His strengths have never been offensively so why does he play a role that demands more from him in attack? It doesn't make sense.

Any top manager who inherits Kante will build their team around him. Guarantee that. And yet Sarri hasn't done that. He's not a top manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kante was at his best playing alongside a static DM/no 6 like Matic. He was more than a DM under Conte

Get Bielsa in.
----------------------------------------------
Judging by the way our squad respond to the managers who challenge players, with Bielsa we'll win our first five matches 10-0 then be in the relegation zone by Christmas

It’s amazing how many renowned managers we make look incompetent at our club isn’t it?

Don't think that's fair.

The exact same flaws that got Carlo, Jose mark 2 and AVB sacked all crept up elsewhere too.

All managers have flaws but there’s a reason why we hire all these guys - they have successful careers elsewhere before they arrive with us. That spell at Porto for Jose, the CL wins for Carlo and that invincible season for AVB. As soon as they get here though, they’re branded incompetent and leave within a few years.

Sarri is a case in point. This guy is incredibly well thought of in mangenment circles, Pep/Klopp etc are are glowing in their praise for him. His Napoli side was an absolute joy to watch. With us though within 6 months he’s incompetent and one dimensional.

In Carlo and Jose's cases they both had the success they were hired for then got fired because the cons started outweighing the pro's, it also happened to both at Real and Carlo again in Munich, Jose at United to at extent aswell. It's not uncommon at this level and it's certainly not an "issue" isolated to us.

AVB came too soon and he showed at Tottenham afterwards that it was more his fault than ours, remains to be seen what happens with Sarri.

I find it funny that people criticised Mourinho in his time for not playing youth and for playing people like Ivanovic and Oscar constantly... but then Sarri doesn't play youth and plays trash players like Jorginho and Kovacic constantly and people make excuses for him?

I think your making things up there. It's one of Sarri's biggest criticisms on here!

I think he's still wound up that Jorginho smashed Matic in his little poll he created, even after he switched the answers to try and make it look like Matic won

He’s played CHO more than Jose played any Chelsea youth player in any of his seasons.

posted on 21/3/19

Still hasn't played him enough though has he. Plus where was the CHO level youth talent when Mourinho was managing?
