Yeh just finished watching it, was a good watch actually. Felt Merson’s pain and clearly he still has a lot of issues.
I like how they focused on the 11 players but the subs they had were much fitter players
Yeah was a good watch. I like Merson. Loves his footy and a good member of soccer Saturday. Let’s hope he sorts himself out
I wish Merse all the best you can see a broken arm but you cannot see a broken mind !!

I beg to differ with some of the posters on here
As soon as I saw the trailer with that idiot Merson and that even bigger fool Ruddock I decided to give it a swerve
Really felt for Merson as he was breaking down talking of his gambling addiction and how it’s resurfaces recently, wasn’t pleasant to hear.
Then switched sky sports on afterwards and he’s on the Skybet advert yelling “BOOST!” with the lads.

Just on Saturday I was speaking to someone who knows Paul Merson. He said about his gambling problem that it's still not under control and he still likes a drink, despite what he says in the media.
I like Merson though, just not his predicitons or when he slates Spurs.
Also he is not an Arsenal fan, he supports Chelsea
Although he obviously has love for Arsenal too.
Is he in any of the skybet adverts featuring Jeff and the boys? I imagine they have sympathetic words for him, whilst shouting "BOOST" in between supportive comments.
"There, there Paul. You shall get through this BOOST we are here for you BOOST we will do everything we can to help you beat this BOOST".

Disgrace is a bit harsh..
Ace, I don’t know how Ruddock was a professional footballer in the first place mate. He was a little bit early for my days, but I remember him in his later days and he was never a great footballer. The guy is exactly how everyone should look at when getting old and making sure they don’t follow that route. I understand some people are not so lucky with genes, but to be so unhealthy is ridiculous.
Funny enough was just at the gym this morning and chatting to a 90 year old guy. He was telling me how he doesn’t like sitting around at home and likes to keep fit. Fair play to the lad then you got “Razord” lard a** Ruddock

Watched it. Ruddock is a disgrace, he’s morbidly obese, eats like a pig and drinks like a fish, can’t run 50 metres without nearly collapsing in respiratory arrest or pulling up with an injury. Did they even need to consult a doctor to confirm he was at high risk of heart attack/stroke/type 2 diabetes???
I was surprised at how many of them were so unfit and out of shape, given that they are all ex professional athletes. I know the fitness & sports science wasn’t at the same level in their day, but they still spent at least 20 years of their life doing interval training on a near daily basis. They all had like +30% body fat, high visceral fat - reckon they must be so fed up of the training and dieting during their careers that retirement becomes one long blowout.
There is definitely something to be said about men who work in jobs where they are part of a team and retire young, be it pro sports or the military, are at massive risk of mental health problems in their later life; so much trouble comes from adapting to a new life, not having their mates around every day, it often leads to depression and addiction.

I think you're spot on here mate, plus these relatively young people get paid obscene amounts of money to ply their trade,it doesn't matter who you are you get used to living on be money you are being paid believe me I know!
Therefore they are not only prime targets for conmen but when they stop playing their income goes from living God status to bit-part player struggling to get by,it's such a sea change in circumstances it's no wonder a huge percentage of them suffer from mental health issues?
Ruddock was always a lout. I'd like to see him and Neville Southall go at it.
