Got away with one there a bit

Phil Jones stepped up today, Shaw keeps getting a little bit better each match, which is what I most enjoy about his progress. Small steps of improvement and his choice of passing is greatly improved. For Marcus' goal, that was the kind of pass you'd expect Pogba to pick out. Herrera was in a miserable state today, maybe it's a slow injury comeback or maybe it's the contact, but that was one of his 3 worst performances. We may have stunk up the pitch most of the match, but Fergie was able to get a good result from a bad performance, and it appears as if Ole has that same touch, something Moyes, LvG and Jose could not do.

We played awful under saf many many times and won.
It was always a sign of a good team back then.

What's the issue with it now?

You're not having Kante, dream on

What on earth makes them think they have a chance?

Greg amazingly enough expected goals wise we were the better team today so it shows you how well we defended to restrict them to pot shots.

I've always felt that notion was overrated.

It's a sign of a good team on one off occasions maybe but teams that do it for a number of months are only delaying an inevitable slump, case in point Spurs.

Whilst I sort of agreeDL11 I don't think Spurs are a case in point, as in general they have played quite well.

The thing is despite us being so poor we still deserved to win based on the quality of chances created as shown by expected goals. We deserved to beat Arsenal as well quite easily but somehow lost 2-0 in a game we defended really well and created lots of great chances and half chances.

manusince52 you haven't watched Spurs then as Poch was fluking wins left right and centre. If anything they been playing better recently in slump of form and have still been deserving to lose games. They were playing relegation standard for a few months but fluking wins and Poch was lapping it up.

Hafi stop going on about expected goals, it’s utter nonsense and meaningless.

Spurs last good performance in the league chances created wise was against Newcastle United at home and that was in 2nd of February and even then a keeper howler gifted them the game and they missed the target with most of there shots.

We also didn't get away with it as we defended really well. There was only 4 key attacking chances in the game and 3 was for Man Utd and that 1 for Watford at end. When LVG was getting trolled for the games at home in his last season we were having like 10-12 important moments in games we didn't win so the fact we only conceded 1 real chance all game shows you we did well.

Hafi, I see you are looking at advanced stats. Using this https://www.advanced-muppetry.com/stats/lotsof/waaanky-ones/2366/s
I can see we had more chance of an albatross being sighted overhead, and Lord Lucan is in the crowd % by a factor of 44.2% and 33.8% respectively. Most tellingly was we had far better ratio of finding the kapraucaun good at the end of the rainbow stars by a factor of 2:1.

So you are probably right.

We should have beaten Arsenal and should have lost here.

I agree with Hafi that Spurs haven't played that well. They have been pretty rubbish most of the season, worth the exception of their second half at home to us, where they were brilliant but thankfully didn't score.

By and large, they've been relentlessly dull and ground out results. Their xG, as Hafi will tell you, is not impressive. Ignore the narrative and watch the football is my suggestion

We were quite atrocious yesterday.

At home we have made Wolves Burnley Southampton Paris and now Twatford look like Brazil recently. If Twatford had a decent striker they would have mullered us.

expected goals was massively in our favour against Burnley and Southampton and Paris only started playing 2nd half.
