Some might call me a plastic but if we squander top 4, I'm not going to renew my season ticket. Buggered if I'm going to fork out thousands to watch this annual crumble.

Yup, if we don't get 6 points from the next 2 games I don't see us getting top 4 unless our rivals collapse.

No excuses now. These players (Lloris for example) are always blabbering on about mentality. Time to actually back it up.

Well, we have 5 home games on paper which are bankers for a top 4 team. If we can't win them then we aren't a top 4 team.

I do fancy us to turn off Palace comfortably though

Don, Spurs will beat Palace something like 3-0 midweek, of that I have no doubt. Just a better team, yes the results have not been there, but the performances against both Southampton and Liverpool were very good, and even against Arsenal, Chelsea and Burnley they were games that could have gone in Spurs favour. We always knew that Spurs would lose at both Chelsea and Liverpool, Burnley has not been one of better grounds to visit over the years, although recently not too bad, and Southampton away they should have had the game wrapped up at half time. Arsenal game a draw is always on the cards.

Spurs will beat Palace and Huddersfield is a nailed on win, and a chance to boost the goal average again. Keep the faith Don.

I will renew next season. But yes, if we are selling our best players and get worse next year I will switch to a membership the following year. The prices are only sustainable if we have a top team.

Don, Spurs have morphed into Arsenal, flat track bullies at home now against the weaker sides, so with the home fixures to come, expect five victories.

posted on 1/4/19

Sandy, yes we have morphed into Arsenal I agree.

SB, don’t blame you one bit mate. I’m getting sick of Spurs if I’m going to be honest. Sick of them letting me down.

No I’m sure the atmosphere will be brilliant, but thus team are beginning to test the patience of most supporters. Only so much failure we can take.

You're deluded if you think home to Palace at a new stadium will be an easy 3-0. Palace will be going for the jugular off the bat and are in decent form. No team has ever moved into a new stadium and not struggled at first. They also knocked you out the cup comfortably and you haven't won in 5 losing 4.

Your delusion is all of your own making

dunno how we are flat track bullies. our performances have been horrible against these sides and we've scraped wins. Yesterday 2nd half vs Liverpool we played our best in ages in the league

I agree, it certainly won’t be as easy as Sandy is making out. We start the game slowly and nerves will start to kick in. I am confident though we can beat palace and I think the occasion should really lift the team, which then should give us the confidence to win our remaining home games. Won’t be easy though no way.

I think the truth is mate that we were never that good to begin with. We all knew the impact of the WC on some of our best players, the realization of injuries as a result and 2 straight windows of inactivity were always gonna have an impact.

Going back to the early part of the season, yeah we were winning games but we all commented that we were never really convincing. The number of losses (10) tells you all you need to know and the lack of draws was reflection of a team that couldn't grind out a result just move on to the next game.

City & Liverpool are miles better than the rest and the fact that again Arsenal, United & Chelsea have all had disrupted/ transitional seasons for one reason or another has given Spurs a slightly false position and some of our fans unrealistic expectations.

With that said Poch & the players have done an admirable job keeping this together for as long as they have But, lots of us have seen this coming. Sitting up in 3rd for quite a while and even being talked about as contenders was never realistic. Sure we beat a mess of a Chelsea team at home & United in crisis at OT but so what... As per normal we lost both the reverse fixtures as soon as they got their acts together. Truth is, have we really beaten anyone of note this year... hard to tell with the Dortmund result as German football is clearly in a transitional period in terms of its clubs and national team (look at how easily Pool beat Bayern !

As soon as the tough games came thick & fast we folded as per normal.... Burnley & saints fighting for their lives, Arsenal (we were lucky to get a draw), Chelsea beat us twice as they have better players despite Sarri's BS and sure we were unlucky yesterday BUT these are mental lapses and a lack of concentration & heart when you need to stand up and be counted.

Palace is nightmare game, one i could see us losing. They have the players in positions to hurt us (Zaha & Townsend), are far better away than at home, Its a London Derby and a big occasion which I'm sure they will enjoy as much as the Spurs lads..... after all, who wouldn't enjoy playing at that place.

This has been a lopsided season in so many ways, I'm not angry about it, I just think that by looking back now the signs were clearly there... We all knew this tough stretch was coming and once again Spurs position has been slightly inflated by the failings of others rather than anything especially outstanding we have done.

Like I said, anyone who ends up being surprised if we finish 5th is guilty of buying into a lot of hype. The players & manager (despite some horrible mistakes) deserve a lot of credit for holding things together but now is the time of year when the big boys win the games they need to... We are simply not in that class

I have my reservations about Levy BUT, no question he deserves credit for the stadium but this summer is gonna have to bring about a change in approach otherwise this stadium & its massive costs could be a cloud that hangs over the club for years

I didn`t say it would be easy, I said it would be 3-0. They beat us in the cup with our reserve side, Spurs won at Palace with their first team. Losing four out of five, when four of the games were away from home is not unusual for any team, especially when two of the games were at Liverpool and Chelsea.

Palace are a very average outfit, and that is reflected in where they sit 13th just 3 points off a bottom four spot. If you fancy Palace, I suggest you go have a good bet on them.

Oh and they took until 15 minutes from the end to score against comfortably the worse team in the league Huddersfield.

posted on 1/4/19

Huddersfield will be strange we have to play them also. Now they are officially down pressure is off and they may play with a bit more freedom

I agree with some of your comments, but you do not sit in top three for most of the season, if you are an average side. Sure the team are not getting the results at the moment, but form is temporary, class is permament. Spurs still have some of the best players in the country, and as they showed yesterday and against Dortmund in the CL, they can mix it with the very best.

The main problems this season, has to me not playing a settled side. Far, far too many changes game on game.
