Racism

Absolutely disgraceful from the two of them.

People say things are as bad here but evidently it isn't true. In England they'd be hung, drawn and quartered for those comments.

If I was Kean I'd be handing in a transfer request immediately.

Not sure why these black players go there, a backwards country. Bonucci should shut his mouth

posted on 3/4/19

Bonucci's comments are an absolute disgrace:

Italy international Bonucci - who scored the opening goal - told Sky Sport Italia: "You celebrate goals with your team-mates. He could have done it differently.

"I think the blame is 50-50. Moise should not have done that and the Curva [fans] should not have reacted in that way."

How is the issue ever going to be fixed when the player's own team mate holds the view that he basically brought it on himself?

Fecking disgusting.

The sooner those nice Europeans are rid of racist Brexit gammon Britain the better

We have own problems. Like Southgate said last week let's get our own house in order. Plenty of racial incidents in British football of late.

I’m actually appalled at Allegri’s comments, if your own manager is saying this when what hope do you have?

Ridiculous comments from the players and managers. Racism just isn't taken as seriously as other forms of discrimination.

If this had been a female player then you can guarantee that she would not have scored.

Fans are absolute kants all over the world. In one country it's racism, here it's homophobia (and let's not pretend there's no racism involved).

But a player riling up the crowd will only ever exacerbate the issue. The problem is with the officials who need to take action. That needs to happen, but don't let the players make it worse.

Should be forced to play 3 fixtures behind closed doors if found guilty of this

I don't wish this to come across as overly critical because I'm sure you share my feelings about the abuse itself, but you really should not write a setence with 'but' after criticising it.

There's no justification. None. The player could run around for 4 minutes laughing at the fans, do the caterpillar in front of the opposition dug out and then down a pint whilst standing on one leg on top of the crossbar for all I care, there's no excuse for racial abuse.

At no point should any player have to think 'I probably shouldn't do this as it's more likely to incite racial abuse'. Poor comment imo.

Not for one second saying that.

But the players HAVE to not react on the pitch as all it does is exacerbate the situation. Leave the authorities to stamp it out (the fact they don't is a separate issue that needs addressing).

Sorry, but you are.

The player should be able to do what he likes without fear of racial abuse.

To ask the player not to do something in case it exacerbates racial abuse is, in part, blaming the victim.

I haven't said or implied that.

As I said, I don't want this to become a massive issue and I've no doubt you find the abuse as abhorrent as I do.

I'd just respectfully advise you to re-consider that point, because it comes across as if the player should consider not doing something in case it leads to racial abuse.

Answer the question directly.

Do you think it's wise for players to purposefully attempt to wind up thousands of fans?

I think the point is that when it happens in the UK, the perpetrator is widely condemned, here, you have a prominent player and manager blaming the player who was abused along with the fans who were doing the abusing. It’s a strange stance to take.

I once saw a cyclist go through a red light at a pedestrian crossing so I caught up with him in my car and ran him over and killed him. If he didn't want killed then he shouldn't have skipped that red light. I was completely justified in my actions. He skipped a red light afterall. What did he expect?

If you ever been racially abused then you can understand the players reaction.

I remember one time there was a kid on the bus that was pulling faces at me. I grabbed him and took him off the bus and disembowelled him, chopped him up and sent each of his organs to various different members of his family.

shouldn't have pulled those faces. What did he expect to happen?

Can totally understand why the player did it, but just don't believe winding up thousands of fans is a good move in any scenario.
