Welcome to Tottenham Simon Mignolet

Doubt he’ll leave you guys now as he could be first choice next season if the rumours of Allison being unsettled in Liverpool and homesick

I get that the posted question is Butland but can someone tell me what's wrong with Gazza? He's 27 now so coming up to his prime as a keeper...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing from what we've seen this season. Between him and Lloris we have 2 very good options. A replacement keeper isn't much of an issue for me with all the other stuff we'll have to address.

Apart from he's said he's really happy and settled.
The Mig is on a free mate. Could do worse.
Ethridge at Cardiff has been superb this season he could definitely be a decent signing if as expected Cardiff go down this season.
I still think Ben foster is one of top 5 keepers in the country, maybe a little to old for us now. Outstanding pretty much every time I see him .
I think we should wait and see how the rest of the season pans out. What if Lloris has a huge part to play in helping us earn some points/progressing in the CL?
Butland is rubbish
Made tons of mistakes for Stoke last year
We would score goals as a direct result of Gaz kicking, that will never be said of Hugo.
Heaton has had a good since since displacing Hart from the liitle Ive seen.

personally I would promote gazza if there is no attainable upgrade out there...
the flaws in lloris game unfortunately cost us the way we play...
i.e. football out from back.. but hes awful on the ball..
and mostly have the ball, which limits opposition shots... leading to a lack of concentration from him, leading to mistakes, and goals against...
I think its no coincidence that the lloris error came at the time in the game when we were looking most dangerous in attack.....

I mean if he makes the CL winning saves and penalty saves etc then its all out the window and hes a club legend.... he is far more likely to make a mistake that results in us going out though, I would say...
I just don't think he instills any kind of confidence in the defence which is a problem
Right this will no doubt give most of you the hump but....... genuine question would you swap Leno for Lloris?
Forget the Arsenal v Spurs nonsense for a moment, Leno is young and had a great first season and looks a modern sweeper keeper so is not just a shot stopper as Lloris appears to be.
He is also full of confidence which again Lloris appears bereft of.

At the moment I probably would Dan
I didn’t really rate Leno at the start but he’s grown in confidence throughout the season whereas Lloris seems low on confidence
Nice to see Angus Gunn flying under everyone's radar.
I don't know whether he'd be willing to swap one squad role for another, but I'd love to see him give Leno a run for it. Especially now that we might be losing both Ospina and Cech.
Surely with modern technology Sissoko could have a clone transplant of Ronaldo's right foot?

It would be a gamble if I'm being honest as plenty of young keepers have had a good start only to fall away later. Be interesting to see how Leno performs after he's made a howler or two.
Lloris might be going through a blip but does appear to be a weak link at the moment. not sure how he is rated abroad but if you got offered good money (40m?) could be worth selling and getting someone else in?

Brian Gunn's kid. An absolute unit at 6 foot 5.
Former Norwich youth, then got snapped up by City, now at Southampton. Took him a while to work his way into the starting lineup, but Hassenhutl seems to have decided to run the rest of the season out with him.
He also got called up to the last World Cup squad. Won't be long before he becomes a serious contender for England, imo.
Decent young keeper, Angus Gunn.
He played vs us at the Bridge, top performance.
