Liverpool fans actually think they have an atmosphere to match/better thislet that sink in
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Incredible noise!

JT has also said elsewhere that Fenerbace was noisier than Anfield 05.

Anfield 05 was amazing tbf, as noisy as terrace days in the 80s

Atleast we're not merely making up the numbers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A team that got to the final last season, are more than likely to make the semis this season and are currently top of the league are making up the numbers?

It was, but what they don't seem to realize is every club has their moments in CL knockout games, even The Emirates (Barca 11).

The true test of a fanbase is in adversity, if they were cheering the team bus and " surprising" teams in the Roy era i would have been the first to give them their dues.

Jose Mourinho:

"I felt the power of Anfield, it was magnificent.

Speaking to HLN about that night in Liverpool, Hazard said: “I love Anfield. The stadium, the pitch, the atmosphere. I love to play there.

John Terry autobiography

“I have never heard anything like it before and I don’t think I ever will again. It is the best atmosphere I’ve ever played in.

“I walked out into that cauldron and heard that singing and saw that passion. The hairs on my arms were standing up. To see a spectacle like that is inspiring to anyone.

“I just kept looking around, trying to take it all in. I wasn’t daunted by it, but it was amazing. I wish more crowds were like that.

“I have refereed at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Manchester United and Arsenal. But I’ve never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. It was incredible.”

– Referee, Lubos Michel

Thierry Henry:

“I love it when you step out of the dressing-room and you see the Kop, the scarves, and [hear people] singing You’ll Never Walk Alone. Just that, that would do it for me.”

Ryan Giggs:

“You could be playing against an average Liverpool team and it would still be one of the toughest games of the season, just because the crowd drive them on and the tradition between the two clubs.”

Fabio Capello, on atmosphere vs Juventus, 2005:

“The fantastic atmosphere at Anfield was like an electric shock for Liverpool’s players, who started the match at an astonishing tempo. They seemed unstoppable.”

How a Chelsea fan can come out with the above I don’t know. Yes we didn’t like Roy, with good reason IMO. But that’s what one manager in how many years?

Think on how Chelsea fans reacted to Rafa, after he won them a European trophy

Chelsea get through one a season. Sadly it’s a Sarri in week and gobshiites have come out the woodwork.

You have had it either great or good since the 70's, the one time since you had to deal with a serious crisis half of you you didn't bother showing up.

You only sing when your winning

Let’s not forget the time Roy was in charge also coincided with Hicks and Gillette’s distarous reign that almost put the club into administration. Do t think attendances dropped that much and buy it did inevitably effect atmosphere.

The Anfield atmosphere has always been exaggerated by the Liverpool loving media and it always makes me laugh when commentators remark on how unusually quiet it is there. That is the norm whats unusual is when they create a decent noise.
