30 years ago I went to watch my team play. I was lucky to come home that day. 96 others didn’t. May they rest in peace YNWA

As a parent I always shed a tear on this day for those who didn't return. They will never be forgotten.

Hard to believe that 30 years on there still isn't accountability and closure for the families.

Shame on those involved in cover up and denials.

100% agree with you

On that day as an 11 year old boy I watched my team, United, lose 2-0 to Derby. How insignificant that now seems when lives were lost by people going to a football match. Something which should never happen.

RIP to the 96 and the hundreds, no thousands, of other lives that tragedy affected.

It was terrible. That was the time when semi-finals weren't even live on TV although I believe Grandstand were showing live scenes from there.

Didn't know that. That must have been an awful watch. Hopefully this is something we'll never have to see again.

I read a book a few years ago which was full of eye witness accounts. One, by Bruce Grobbelaar will stick with me forever. He said that he went to get the ball to take a goal kick and some fans were coming onto the pitch. He told one guy to get back and the guy said to him "Bruce, people are dying in there"

I was only a young boy when it happened, but remember seeing the truly awful scenes on the news.

This is a genuine question - what would Liverpool fans see as 'justice' for the 96?

I'm not very well informed or up to date with the issue, but I seem to remember some highly ranked ex Police Officers being charged relatively recently. If I'm mistaken then I apologise.

But what is justice for you guys?

That day in 89 I went to watch Arsenal v Newcastle
At half time I was looking forward to the semi final score on the tannoy or scoreboard.
No internet etc back then.
An announcement that people had been killed and not much else.
All sorts of speculation going around.
Got home and watched in horror the events that had unfolded.
Was planning to go out but just couldnt.
Too shocked and numb.

Nothing compared to those more directly involved if course.

Not a Pool fan but the match commander, David Duckenfield was on trial recently and the jury couldn’t agree on a verdict so they’re still trying to sort out a re-trial.

A sombre scene,
A shrine, 92 colours.
A moving show of grief
From 91 others.

The Kop is empty now,
It's only a game.
The Kop is empty now,
It will never be the same.

Red Army, Christian crusade,
Led by a religion.
Walk on loyal lost,
You'll never walk alone.
