Thought Dembele's legs were basically gone? Prime Dembele would have obviously been great but that time has past

Once Sissoko cone on we were in control, the only problem last night was lack of fire power.

Can we just let the Dembele shouldn't have gone go, absolutely no reason to think a player past his best would have done any better last night.

Kane missing is the main reason Spurs form has dropped alarmingly since the New Year. The who,e fulcrum of the attack revolves around him in games like last night.

Dembele was not the same player he was years ago, but his quality was still clearly there. Don't need to play him every game but to cash in on him was silly.

Wanyama was absolute cr*p, Dembele would have been so much better.

All of the injuries to the CM's highlight how stupid selling Dembele was.

Central midfield is weak and often overrun. Dodgy RBs. Toothless attack at the moment too. Lots of problems to ponder over the summer

The issue isn’t selling dembele. The issue was selling him and not replacing him. Not even a loan signing. This put a strain on out centre midfield both numbers wise and quality wise. Nonsense decision from the club.

Dembele is a great loss. Even not operating at 100% Dembele would have given us that little bit of guile and ball manipulation that was clearly missing yesterday allowing us a foothold on the game .

Dembele was written off by some of our fans a few years ago and wanted him sold.He then turns out to be one of the top midfielders to ever grace the EPL. So what do some fans know.
Without a replacement and a quality deficient squad , it was the most stupid decision to get rid of him.
Pretty sure some our rivals where whooping with joy when we got rid.

Having said that with Winks in the team yesterday result could have been different. Tidy player with good ball retention and ability to play between the lines which was missing yesterday.
Injuries have been the bane of our season.

We score out there early doors and it’s game on. Score a second and they will need 2 to win. Tie is not over. COYS!!!

I admire your optimism, but how are Spurs going to score two goals, when they scored none last night, and never looked like scoring if the truth be told. Toothless without Kane or even Son.

We do have Son back. No 2 games are the same. We play with better intensity from the off and get amongst them you never know. I hope our players don’t have your defeatist cap on next week. Everything is possible even getting to a CL final having been minutes away from not even qualifying out of the group stage. Who would have thought we would get past Man City.
1 point from 3 group games and been ridiculed seems a distant memory.

Dembele at his best was imo easily spurs best player in the Poch era. He may have been past his best, but its obvious you miss him badly. Levy really erred by refusing to loosen the purse strings. Your not out of this tie though, Ajax are a well organised and dangerous side, but I think you can bully and overpower them. The problem is the players look like they are running in fumes.

When was the last time Spurs played with any intensity from the start. It is just not happening this season. I am not a defeatist mate, just a realist. Last night was not a one off defeat, it has been happening pretty well two or three times a month for months now. To many injuries and players completely out of form do not make a winning combination. I would like to be proved wrong, but I don`t think I will be.

It was only a year ago when Dembele was in beast mode. I know he did regress but he would absolutely have made a difference last night. The fact Tielemans was also available on loan and we passed him up was also criminal.

Absolutely crazy we started a champions league semi final with Llorente, Trippier and a broken Wanyama

What’s to say he’d even been fit for the match?

You're comparing Dembele when he was at his prime not what he'd become. That said, Wanyama is God awful but last night, wasn't on his own. I take encouragement from this so called super side only got the one goal with us underperforming. We can pull this back. Been done before. Personally I want to see the smile knocked off the face of thier time wasting GK. How he didn't get booked I'll never know.
