That's not the point I was making, I was saying that the teams this year competing with man City are so much stronger than the teams competing with Man Utd back then. It's like comparing Liverpool's champions league wins in the 80s to winning the Champions League today. completely different competition pretty much.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh really.
Do you remember the teams back then? Barcelona had Figo, Rivaldo, Guardiola
Inter had Ronaldo, Baggio, Zanetti
Juve had Zidane, Davids, Deschamps, Inzaghi
Bayern had Matthaus, Effenberg, Lizarazu, Elber
We played all them teams twice or more and never lost once.
Who did city play? Spurs????
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What the furrrk are you talking about? I was comparing Man Utd's domestic rivals back then to City's domestic rivals now and saying that winning the league is way harder now than it was back then, which is why winning the treble was easier for United back then than it would be for city now because United could focus more easily on other competitions.

Mendy over Irwin
Mendy over Irwin?
Bernardo over Scholes?
Sterling over Beckham?
Can you read? I was comparing Liverpool in the 80s to current champions league and comparing the gap in quality to Man Utd's Premier League in the 90s and current premier league.
Actually maybe:
Schmeichal
Neville Kompany Stam Laporte
De Bruyne Keane Bernardo
Giggs Aguero Sterling
Bernardo over Scholes?
Sterling over Beckham?
-----------
What's your team?

Not really a comparison though is it lad
Anyways. Mendy over Irwin
I don't think Irwin was that good. A bit before my time, but that's what I've heard.

So you’ve just proved that you never even saw our treble winning team. Your whole argument is embarrassing. Irwin was an excellent left back

You heard wrong mate!
Scholes over Bernardo??? Wow.
The treble winning team played at a time when English football was weak and so winning the Premier League and FA Cup was a lot easier back then than it is now. Their achievement was great, but you can't say that that alone makes them better than this Man City team.
Bernardo is an excellent player
Scholes is one of the greatest midfielders of the premier league era

Different eras so you can’t compare. Plus you weren’t even around then so why even bother comparing. All you can say is our season was better. Fact
Unless you value league cup over cl
Plus going by your logic how about you look at our fa cup run with City
Look at City's title race compared to yours. 79 points, Jesus Christ.
Sir Alex Ferguson played Guardiola twice and got badly beaten both times. The same would happen if Man Utd's treble winners played this City team.

So you could say that the league is weaker as two teams got huge points?
That Barca team are probably the best ever and would wipe the floor with this city side. Bless you now changing the goalposts
Struggling ey lad
No because like I've said many times, the current top 6 are better than any team back then aside from man utd themselves. The league is clearly much more stronger and competitive now. Can you really say West Ham in 5th that year would beat the current 5th place Arsenal for example? And this Man City team are closer to that Barcelona team than the treble winners were, that's for sure.
I can't prove Man City are better than the treble winner, but everyone who isn't a deluded Man utd fans would agree with me, so think about that, ey lad.
Arsenal won the league the previous season wahl and were a point behind United in 99

Wtf would you know. You weren’t around in 1999. You are fecking clueless lad
I actually was around in 1999. I was only 2, but I've done my research and I know that that Man Utd team that won the treble, whilst a great team, is not as complete and dominant a team as this current City team. Never before in the Premier League era has a team dominated domestic competition like City did this season. I think you're blinded by club bias to see this.

So they only got 78 points then? I'm pretty sure 97 point Liverpool in 2nd would batter them, so further proves my point.
