Wenger would have gotten top 4

By signing a new manager Arsenal simply compounded the problem of having a poor team with having a even poorer manager!

If Wenger remained you wouldn't have had the honeymoon period Emery initially had which is what kept you in the top four race in the first place.

As bad as Chelsea have been they still got a lot more points than we did last season. So did we.
Not a very logical argument from the OP.

What is it with this hatred you've got for Arsenal?

Wenger failed to get Top 4 in his last season.
As frustrating as the season has been it has also been an improvement on last season

Godfather lite. You do realise Wenger failed to get us top four in his last season as other posters have mentioned.

You also seem to forget that Wenger couldn't win the league when other teams faltered and we couldn't beat Leicester to the title. What makes you think he'd do better with the dross he left us with

Haha Godfather lite, good one! I take that as a compliment he's one of the few sensible posters on here.

You point out all the things Wenger couldn't do, which is pretty reflective of your irrational hate for the man but anyway.

Lets take into consideration the relevant things he did do, achieving top 4 for more than a decade even at times when it was against the odds. We were in the driving seat after drawing away at Spurs (a game we should have won), in this position history suggests Wenger would most likely have clinched 3rd or 4th with none of the top 6 left to play. You just need to accept that Emery failed (Crystal Palace game comes to mind) from a position where Wenger wouldn't have.

Dexter,
I apologize for being realistic! I don't worship at the Gunner altar and I don't drink the Arsenal cool-aid regardless of what sort of a team/manager we have.
Perhaps results don't matter to you, if that's the case then everything is just wonderful in Gunnerland.

Wenger would not have got top 4 our away form was worse last season I doubt he would have even got top 6 we been dealing under Wenger we would have declined even more if he was still in charge

When did I say Emery was light years ahead of Wenger? Wenger couldn’t even win the league when all the other teams were having a awful season at the same time that how bad we bottled it under him nothing leads me to think Wenger would have got top 4

OP what makes you think that Wenger could get us into the top 4 when he couldn't do so last season with more or less the same set of players? What would he have done differently?

By the way I haven't got an irrational hatred of hum, I appreciate all he did for us but I'm not blinkered not to see that he was finished as a top flight manager.

If the hapless Wenger had stayed there is a significant possibility that he would have failed to get us top 6, top 4 had been missed 2 seasons in a row and the team looked stale and disjointed. This season has actually been an improvement although admittedly the ending has been abysmal.

Unfortunately, the "abysmal ending" was part of the season, so where is the improvement? Time to clean house again!
