For me, Lo Celso is a must.

If we lose Eriksen then it has to be Dybala or Zaha in his place.

Sessegnon if Rose goes.

And get Dani Alves in regardless - serial winner

So £25m Rose, £65m Eriksen = £90m.

£55 Lo Ceslo & £65m Zaha & £20m Sessgnon Alves free

Spend for the summer = £203m. Sales = £123m if you include Demeble £11m in Jan. Net £80m

If you consider no buys last summer, thats £40m last and this. Easy!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

But Levy wants

£30m Rose, £80m Eriksen = £110m

£45m Lo Celso & £50m Zaha & £15m Sessegnon. No Alves

Spend for summer = £165m. Sales = £165m if you include Dembele and Onomah etc. Net £0m.

If you consider the last 5 transfer windows, that's keeping in line with strategy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah but if you look at £110m profit last year. Probably the same this year. New AIA deal. New Nike deal.

The money is there. YEs we have a stadium to pay for but that's over time, like any mortgage, so will eat in to revenues, but in the 17/18 season we made £110m profit with a £30m net spend in the transfer windows (basically Lucas).

We have seen with Sanchez & NDombele that we will invest in the right deal - Not sure someone like Zaha is that right sort of player, being 26 and probably not much resale in the end. Also Dybala. We seem willing to invest in players that might appreciate and have some end value, but less so in ones who've probably reached their peak value. It's an understandable strategy and has served us well, not sure it will deliver us to the very top.

Morning chaps

If Wilf does go then (as unlikely as it may be) i'd love to see him at Spurs. A club on the 'up', CL football and fast/attractive play.
He's done his time scrapping about for a shiiit team and deserves a shot at the top imo.
I honestly think he'd silence the doubters.

if he goes to Everton i'll be fuming TUX you cant be too happy with that either, not really much of a step up!

Zaha would on paper be a no-brainer, but it'd be hard to swallow him treating Spurs as his backup option after Arsenal fell through.

Turning into a very poor window compared to the standard it needed to be. Ending last season we knew we needed real quality in RB, CM and FW. If we lost Rose, Eriksen and Toby then that's an additional LB, CM and CB.

All we've done is CM! RM and FW nowhere to be found and we still have uncertainty over Rose, Eriksen and Toby.

That's a significant amount of movement within the space of 7-10 days in order for us to get to where we should be.

It's becoming a bit of a joke. I wish I could say "just sit and wait till the window finishes before judging" but Levy's track record doesn't exactly instil confidence.

Even if we were to get those done we've left it right until the season starts with wholesale changes and no integration.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Rose is yet to leave and has joined up with the squad and Foyth is being lined up for RB, and we still have Aurier, Dier who can play in this role too. So club has options there?

Buying because we didn't buy in the last windows doesn't make sense. Buying because we have gaps or no options, then yes. We have done that

Now there could be a gap in creative midfield so we are trying to find players. Bear in mind, Eriksen has verbally agreed terms with RM so any decent bid they make, he could go in a jiffy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
but we need to keep up with the teams around us, they are improving there squads we must too, to actually callange for the title doesnt seem to be in Levy's agenda at all because to do that we need massive investment

Transfer business is finished for the season. Told you lot that Ndombele would be our last signing. Nothing I am seeing is making me change my mind. Season starts in what is it 10 days time.

Not when he bagged a hattrick against them and celebrates

Everton already confirmed they wont be following up their interest in Zaha. He wont be leaving cheaply that's for sure having recently signed a 5 yr contract.

70mill would get him. HG player, at prime age, who can play point of attack or either side. Dybala would cost 80mill..for me it is a no brainer.

posted on 30/7/19

I would prefer Zaha and Lo Celso simply because of the familiarity he has with the league over Dybala. It's less of a risk and counts towards HG. Definitely a no-brainer.

Come on mate, we are not getting 2 big signings now. Will even be surprised if we get 1, but we definitely ain’t getting 2. It will either be Lo Celso or nothing and even then I have huge doubts we will get him.

Don you just have your heart set on Lo Celso, when actually the more pressing are is RB. the fullbacks is what we need to sort out before we start thinking about adding more attacking players to our already quality attacking midfield options.

Levy is struggling to sell at a price he wants to IMO. Eriksen and Rose are being quoted for less than market value. He is also relying on other clubs doing business first and Pogba, Neymar etc. are all still at the moment.

Those initial big names will determine what happens.

Yeah agreed.

That's why I am a but surprised this conversation about Zaha has gone on for so long?

It will be Lo Celso, and if possible Sessegnon for this window. Possible because the player was injured and not sure he'll pass the meds.

But for me, Lo Celso is the one the club is hedging its bets on, and the one Poch showed most interest in, going as far as calling the player and explaining Spurs market strategy.

Which is......stay quiet and see if the other side blinks first and we get asked for a lower fee

I want to invest in the whole playing squad mate. A new right back and Lo Celso is fine by me.

i am just baffled as to why EVERY supporter can see we need a new RB

but the only people that matter, don't seem to be pushing to get one

Interesting...

Hope Arsenal get Khedira, leaving Juve to do a swap deal with Eriksen and Dybala. Everyone's a winner baby

well what about left back then.

spurs are facking me off at the moment. i just don't understand the fullback plan. we are trying to win the league ffs.... our current fullback options are

Foyth - rookie RB, unconvincing CB
KWP - clearly not good enough unless he massively improves
Aurier - no pre-season, rash, reckless, reportedly up for sale

Rose - no pre-season, actively wants out
Davies - no pre season due to injury

its an absolute joke.

Err, Poch just made some glowing references to Foyth and how he has progressed and played so well for his country at...RB?
There's the answer: Foyth at RB
