He’s meant to be quite highly rated. I’d be surprised if we went for another championship player, though. I suspect AWB will get over the line eventually.
On a wider note, England look to have some very promising young right backs coming through.
This guy wasn’t even the best in the championship, Reece James at Chelsea, who was at loan at Wigan, was by all accounts. You’ve then got AWB and TAA as well, both of whom are still very young.
Good for England but probably a shame for these guys they’ve got such competition.

We've seen linked with Reece James as well. But he ended up playing at CM for Wigan last season as he was that good for them.
Looking forward to seeing a bit of Norwich this coming season just to see how their manager has them playing.
He has pretty much come out of nowhere.
Yeah I did know he’d played dm towards the end of the season. Right back seems to be where he’s future is viewed, from what I’ve read. With Azpi looking past it there’s an opportunity for him to break into the Chelsea first team in the coming years.
Chelsea, United and Liverpool could all have right backs competing for the England spot in the future.

With the transfer ban, it might accelerate it. Especially if they don't want to upset the player like Hudson-Odoi
Yeah, but knowing Chelsea he’ll go on loan again after falling to get past Azpi and Zappacosta.
Chelsea might really benefit from the ban in the long run.

I am not against us signing players with potential so long as it isn't for silly money.

Norwich FBs are both young, and both highly rated in the championship.
We do have to be careful. Some players can make the jump up, others cannot.

Jamal Lewis at left back is a Northern Ireland International, good prospect... Hopefully he can progress with the step up (from an NI point of view obv)
I dunno, not being able to replace Hazard this summer could set them back a bit. Chelsea aren’t just going to throw in our their youth players at once, but if they are forced to play them more than necessary it doesn’t mean it’ll be a good thing for them.

We want AWB, Palace think they have Aarons in the bag. Surplus funds spent to strengthen in other areas.

To be honest I genuinely find it quite amusing watching Redinthehead continuously tie himself up in knots. Was well on the way to doing so here until the OP took mercy on him.

I am happy for us to go for the odd English youngster but we need a mix if young talent and experience. When I say experience I don't mean Ashley Young. I don't think we would get him but going for Alderweireld for 25m is a no brainer for me along with a young RB.
Problem nowadays is even a young right back from Norwich is going to cost 25-30m more than likely. AWB for me though is a must
