They are a bunch of arrogant sods.. the sri-lanka game sums that up.
England shoulda walked the chase. there was plenty o time to get the runs. But the likes of Moeen smashes a 6 then gets out the next ball.
ITS OK LADS WE HAVE THIS!
seriously, I think we will get through to the semi's but wont go any further.
Didn't take long for you guys to start turning on the team.

The bang bang sixer approach is not working
Against Sri Lanka they didnt use that approach. As soon as the wicket is not a flat road they panic. You have to say the preparation for the world cup has been pathetic. Preparing all these flat track roads in games before world cup and even last year when in the actual tournament wickets have either had pace or spin in them put England in a false pretence.

It's true that any kind of pitch that is a little slow or offers a bit of turn then England struggle. With the exception of Root and stokes, none of the others can adjust their game to what's needed. If you bat first against England on these pitches then you just need 275 and you know you have a chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which makes you wonder why we have exclusively played on flat decks for the last two years. Given the champions trophy in 2017 was played on slow turners we must have known the icc would do the same.
Imo Roy and Buttler are world class players who can adapt too. Even Bairstow against Bangladesh showed patience. The issue is there is no accountability and that stems from the management.
Think there’s been a bit of an aggressive attitude with Morgan too - especially at his recent press conferences... confidence is one thing but arrogance will always come and bite you on the backside.
Still think on paper England are 2nd best to only India - they just need to pipe down and focus on the cricket.
Pitches at this World Cup are prepared by the usual groundstaff at each venue and ICC insist it has asked only for surfaces that offer a balance between bat and ball..

Aussie are the best, they are less reliant on their main batsman , i.e Steve Smith as India are on Kohli , Aussie have greater depth and best bowling attack in the world.
I do get what Bairstow is saying here though. Vaughan, KP and others had all been talking about how this England side has already won the cup a few weeks ago, and now they're saying it could be our worst ever performance in a world cup.
Doesn't excuse the brainless batting but the media do love to big us up and then knock us down.
I agree that most pundits change like the wind, but the truth is it's a results game. You don't get the results, you will be criticised.
I still don't understand what is so hard about beating India and NZ at home. NZ have looked beatable for a while and whilst India are definitely the side of the tournament, they are beatable and have a couple of key injuries.

Great this is the issue. You shouldn’t be aiming for 320. Pitches are becoming more dry and are assisting spinners. You should assess and then post a decent total (which can range from 270-300) doesn’t have to be 320 or 350s.
