Finally managed to ship him out. Decent gk but imo was not good enough.
Typical arsenal though to get such a pathetic offer when u have Pool selling no mads for 15Mil plus.

Sold him for 3.1M pounds

Sounds like us, pathetic. An international goalkeeper 2 short of 100 caps, should have been 12 million at least, 15 if we did well.

We bought him for 2.8M

Told the whole deal for Ospina is worth closer to £5m (€5.5m).
Yes and should have made a reasonable profit.£2,800,000 is a bargain, even for an average goalkeeper with limited height but it should not have dictated the next transfer fee. I suspect his contract was running down (although I can't remember for sure how long it had to run) and Napoli told us they would pay this now or sign him on a free when it expired.
Forgot he was still an Arsenal player to be honest.
Martinez was rumoured to be our no. 2 for next season. I would like to see what he can do as he showed glimpses of what he could do in his limited minutes with us and apparently did well on loan. I think he showed the potential to be the best we've had at controlling the area since Seaman (yes, potential to be better at that than Lehman).
It's good, bit of money in and one off the wage bill

I don't think it's a particularly good plan to start the season with both starting keeper and backup both fresh outta their football nappies. One of the two needs to be experienced.

Well, a little harsh mate, he's a decent goalkeeper but certainly lacks the height required for the Premier League, his shot-stopping is quite good but overall he's not good enough to be our #1 - sure. He's well suited to Italian or Spanish leagues though where players are a bit less physical and shorter in height on average.
