clubs should just refuse to deal with him, enough clubs do it and the players will drop him

not that it would happen

Totally agree Adam.

The whole thing seems like a game to me.

RM and Juve interested but Utd want a lot of money. So they just wait it out whilst Raiola shoots his mouth off to the press and tries his hardest to make Utd want rid of Pogba.

Another 3 weeks time with the transfer window looming (and another couple of press releases by Raiola no doubt) then RM and/or Juve will bid in the hope Utd will accept a lower offer.

As frustrating as it is, both RM and Juve can sit it out and bide their time until one of them breaks and offers something.

I wish Raiola was my agent.

Pogba was and is still in high demand.

...............

That explains why no one has made an offer for him.

Oh, no it doesn't.

I suspect Juve or Madrid will wait until the English window closes, make sure Pogba then makes his position untenable and get him at either a knockdown price or a long staggered deal that wont hit FFP regs too hard.

Pogba has effectively 3 years left on his contract at United.

We will be in no rush to sell for the cut price fee RM/Juve are potentially after.

Our transfer window ending before other countries isn't ideal. Should have never introduced it until all leagues went the same way.

I guess if a club employs an agent then that will be different.

But if the agent works for the player then the player really should be paying their fees. This is how it works in the real world.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trouble is though, that clubs seem to employ them because they want to buy a player. A win win for the agents. Some selling clubs employ them too, so that they can move a player on. A win, win, win for the agents.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was about to add a comment about this too.

This seemingly unregulated free-for-all is ripe for exploitation and corruption.
----------------------------

I was reading about Gary Monk earlier on and how he has been defending his agent (James Featherstone). Apparently when he was at Birmingham and Middlesborough Monk insisted that Featherstone handle all the transfer deals. So in some instances we have both the players/agents and the managers trying to screw
the club.

Interestingly, the same agent is the one that Holloway dug out a few years ago when he tried to sell Charlie Austin to Spurs, even though he wasn't actually his agent. I went to school with said agent, so his behavior has been of interest to me over the years. Obviously operating at a lower level to Raiola, but cut from the same cloth.

Directly you're probably absolutely right. I'd be very surprised if Raiola hadn't asked what type of money it would take for Utd to sell. He claims Utd know of Pogba's desire to move on, difficult to have that conversation without talking about the parameters which would make it possible.

At this moment in time, with Raiola trying to make Pogba's stays as untenable as possible, I can't see any reason why either would bid when they can sit and wait.

Maybe. We hold all the cards though.

Pogba sulking around at the club isn't much different that his present status though, so we can live with it.

You have the right to hold him if the price isn't right. You'd face the prospect of a pretty unhappy player though and he's not exactly Mr Try-Hard when he is motivated!

Frustratingly true.

United need to try and take control of the situation and just come out and say that Pogba is available for the right price, perhaps even name that price, but that the deal must be completed within the next 2 weeks. Otherwise he is staying until next summer.

Indeed, then that goes back to VC's thoughts just there that he isn't exactly Mr Try-Hard as it is.

---------------------------

This is what PSG's sporting director, Leonardo, said today about Neymar.

They are willing to do a deal if the right offer comes in. He stopped short of saying what that offer would be.

It works both ways. If he doesn't put in the effort it will put potential buyers off.

His star isn't that high as it is. Teams may also get put off by Raiola.

Let us say he goes back to Juve. Raiola will start all this crap again in two years time. We know he will. He has form for it.

The minimum will likely be what they paid. The same as it should be for Pogba.

Good point Hoody. France have shown before that they are not interested in players that are not playing on a regular basis.

Lets see if PSG will straight swap for Pogba/Neymar . Then buy a couple of decent midfielders. We can flog Neymar on next season for more than we bought Pogba for if he acts like a caaaant.

True. It would be amazing if Utd just released a statement saying Pogba is available if any club meets their valuation but if Raiola issues any more press releases then Pogba stays irrespective of offer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They dont even need to make it public. Keep some level of professionalism and tell Raiola behind closed doors that if he doesn't keep his big mouth shut he can forget about moving Pogba on this summer.

“It is a shame other people only like to criticise without the right information, and I am also sorry that the club does not take any position against this.”

Like it’s United’s responsibility to waste time defending Pogba and Raiola against comments that have arisen as a direct result of Raiola’s behaviour.

We should announce that Pogba Is a great player but wants out so we are open to offers starting at £180m.

That would shut this fat mug up
