Why are we not getting rid of the dead wood who are on long contracts?

That is a lot of wage, what would we say....£70k a week total?

posted on 12/7/19

Yeah those lads are in high wage relative to their ability. We will end up paying the majority of them

Sacko is going. So are Cibicki and Anita. Ideguchi was being linked away earlier in the summer. Rey won't be on that much so not much to be said there. Said has been told to leave but obviously going to struggle to sell him with this match fixing thing going on.

O'Kane would be a player id have thought a lower championship club would be interested. He did sustain a nasty injury last season so maybe that's why.

Don't know what's going on with Buoy and De Bock though.

Dalby couldn’t get in the morcambe team last season (unless he was injured)
Strange how he’s gone upwards

Pretty much answered your own question.

That said, there has been some movement.

I think people want our better players before the leftovers, maybe they'll come back when all our best are gone!..

Only a thought!.

Bouy is 26 years old and has never made an appearance for his parent club.

Seriously that has to be some kind of record

Watford signed 5 u23 players today - Dalby, someone who was released by Derby, 2 players from Reading and someone released by Crystal Palace. So not that weird when you see it like that.

Seems like they are just padding out their reserve squad - similiar to what we did 2 summers ago to get the numbers up. Players they don't actually expect to challenge for their first team.

Dalby scored in Bielsa's first friendly last summer but after a poor loan spell he was behind Kun, Edmonson and Mujica anyway.

Thing is with success and failure is nobody knows which until you try it!..

People brought into the club are a gamble, and that includes all the so called good players over the years that have come to us but for unknown reasons failed!..

A player we paid peanuts for and on nothing wages didn't work out. Won't lose sleep. Especially when his main purpose was to beef up our numbers in the youth teams.

You notice how all the young strikers hes currently behind are Orta signings? No. Because it doesn't suit the whinging.

Pretty much a success if he’s gone from Leyton Orient to the PL since he joined us.

Most clubs that have decent academies use the scatter gun approach to buying youth in the hope that one or two turn into great players. Some work out but many don’t.

But blame Orta if you really want.

Sheffield Utd didn't buy Dalby and the rest of them, they brought experienced championship winners, id rather we did the same.

Such as? Just looked at their signings last year and really only Norwood seems to have had success at this level before.

Which surely means we signed more players with experience at the top of the championship last summer

This.

What we have done with the academy over the last 2 seasons is the same thing that happens in every academy in the country.

But yeah, blame Orta
