Reflections from yesterday

Yeah agree with all of that. Think we will gift quite a few soft goals next season, White and Cooper will get caught out alot, happened plenty yesterday. Berra was terrific, so was Klich. Bamford looked shot and got brushed off the ball to easily. Need a player like Hugil or Wood to work defences better, we look soft up front. We have no height in the side, corners needed playing short and that's not great against a tall side like Boro. For me we've got 5 days to save our season in regards to top 2, anything less is failure. Atm, i think we're playoff bound and that's only because it's a weaker league this season.

Bera-bashers?

The bloke is a complete liability and shouldn’t be in the first 11. Couldn’t care less how he played in a meaningless friendly.

He won’t be in the first 11 due to suspension!

Somewhat agree. We played him in a back 3 yesterday and we had barely any height in the side. Why cant we sign another centre back who is tall and good in the air so we can have a better defence. You want a back 3? Play 3 centre backs. Phillips will be in it against Bristol City this losing him from his best position

It defies all logic for us to not sign another centre back.tactically cover for injuries ,vulnerability on set pieces.no point playing nice possession football and then getting done on set pieces or because we can't cover injuries.just don't get it.

I have posted a short while back that Berardi is a liability who has been sent off seven times in his relatively short time at Leeds. He was instrumental in f*****g up any remote chance we had against Derby, (along with Cooper and Casilla). He can’t head a ball, he is at best a journeyman and is lucky that he has been allowed to wear a Leeds shirt at all.
Stuff the hard man image, I don't want to see him in a the first team again but given our ridiculously small squad, we probably will!

Wouldn't get into my first choice 18 and should have been moved on and replaced, slow as feck and frequently goes missing, which he did for Coops penalty last week. Cooper having to cover both sides of the area when he plays at CB.
He is much too small for a centre back and is fourth or possibly fifth best in his natural position (right back), he offers nothing going forward and doesn't score. Is he better than Hosannah or Gotts, I'm not sure.
Says on Wiki he can cover left back, in a fully fit squad he is fifth choice there, Douglas, Alioski, Davis, Dallas, Berardi.
Having said that he did well yesterday but only when their second string came on.

I fear that Cooper will be pulled around covering a weak centre back partner will hamper his performance.

Let’s hope he can keep strong mentally and not return to the poor discipline he’s had from before this season.

this is my biggest concern for the team.

From what I’ve seen of pre season I’d snap your hands off for 6th place if offered now.

Bera is a useless liability.
Sign 2 central defenders please!

Kebab we are favourites to win the league.
I can’t see it either.

One can only hope that last season was about developing U23s so that they could make step
up this season.

Otherwise we’re actually in a much weaker position this season.

Our squad is weaker, we spent 5 mill on 4 loaners last season one of whom we didn’t even pay fir till His he played , 2 others went back after half a season now we have 4 more loaners and a massive commitment to buy one at end of season.

It’s a big gamble and promotion is the only goal, anything less than that and it’s going to be a centenary to forget.

Needs to be some strong nerves for first 3 months!

Don't care what you all think, Berra is a great squad player.

'Costa could be a real asset' .....? Most are pinning their hopes on him

Hate this type of reasoning "squad player"

Surely a good "squad player" is someone that can come in and cover injuries / suspensions for either a short or mid length amount of time without being a liability? If he's getting sent off then what bloody use is he for that particular match?

OR

For example he gets sent off and Ayling is out injured, we then have to go to third choice RB?

I also don't wish to see him on the pitch

Isint he tied for most red cards for a leeds player.

Unfortunatly you know it's a record he will beat.

Few were saying that before his injury last season when he played and played well as a CB while Jansson was unavailable (and cooper for a game).

If he could learn to control his temper he'd be more useful. Red cards do make him a liability.

He was excellent at times last seasonx especially in the playoff first leg. Just loses his head. He racked up 3 bodies against Cagliari for example.

I like the guy and I think he's better than some are making out. But he's no use to anyone being sent off and banned, or leaving us a player short in important games.

I don't get a lot on here. When we were running away with the league at the start of last season, he was a revelation @ CB & you all lapped it up
