It's Bruce's first game so the players will be out to prove a point. 10 games on and they will be near the bottom. Its a shame we are playing them in the first game.

We could have played Torreira, Pepe, etc but if one then got an injury we’d all be blaming Emery for playing them too soon

Why on earth would Torreira not be playing? We're too lax on players who have gone on international tournaments during the off-season. Other teams seem to integrate their players quicker after international tournaments. Mahrez played 90 mins yesterday after winning the Afcon.

I understand why Ozil is out, but coupled with all those missed games over the last 2 seasons with "illness", it's frustrating to be paying a player £350k a week and he doesn't seem to be there when you need him.

tbf I don't think the police knew who exactly was threatening him. The two arrested seem to have Turkish names so the threat would increase. But now that the papers are suggesting they think its a dispute between some east euro gang and a local one, they should be back soon.

Could have really done with Torreira starting today.

I don't mind playing kids in the advanced attacking roles, but a deep-seated midfield pairing of Xhaka and Guendouzzi is about as protective as a net curtain.
