Shame he asked for the buyout clause to be removed on that evidence
He didnt. Real never even entertained the option.
We need better defence structure
Man. What a player. So reminiscent of Cazorla in the ability to wiggle out of tight spaces and always seeming one step ahead mentally. Early days of course, but if he puts in 25 performances at that level, I would make him a prime target next summer for us.

Once our first choice full backs are fit it should improve. Any CB partnership will take time, hopefully we can find a good pair. Then, hopefully Torreira will be a shield.
Need Real to win the CL again this season.
If that happens Zidane stays... and then we might stand a chance.

Problem is Real will want him back, and City will want him.
Can only hope he helps us into the CL to give us a better chance.
Cabellos looked a class above at times, potentially going to be very good addition even if it is only for one season.
With any luck Madrid will want to fund a vanity signing and consider a transfer as he's not the biggest name.
Pepe looked good on the ball but I wasn't sure about his movement/intelligence. Around the 80 minute mark Burnley were playing such a high line all Pepe needed to do was get on the shoulder and exploit the space but he only seemed only to be happy with the defense in front - very early days though
Liked what I saw too but should release ball quicker.
Midfield struggled a bit; don’t rate Xhaka but he is a vital cog in our midfield fluidity.

City I'm not too worried about. If he's consistently this good and gets top 4 he will choose us - a team he knows who will give him first team football - over them.
The only question is if Real let him go.
Pepes decision making wasnt good, but he is still rusty. That pass to Auba was especially frustrating, but give him time. He will come good.
Have to sign Ceballos it’s a must, plays with both feet, looks up and turns 360, and bags of aggression for attacking midfielder a magical feet what else just can’t wait for Tierney and Bellerin and Holding and we will be good. Pepe was sublime hopefully he will kick out cobwebs and own the PL.
I was crucified on arseblog for not being that excited with Pepe and being very excited with Ceballos.
I hope I'm only half right.
He’s a very good player. He should be in Real starting line up.

Yeah absolutely, can't read much into him being a bit rusty at this stage
Looking forward to seeing what he can actually do

Another Kovacic situation? There was no option to buy in his loan either if I remember correctly. Ceballos may be more determined to play for Madrid though I guess.

wasn't there an option to buy, otherwise we couldnt have signed him this window no?
If Zidane is still in charge at Real he won’t go back. Will depend fully on that I imagine.
Comfortable on the ball. Played with his head up. Always ready to offer himself up for possession. And willing to chase down lost causes.
A much deserved MOTM performance from Ceballos today.
Can't wait to see if he can replicate this form against much better sides than Burnley and Newcastle.
From the moment I saw him in pre season I saw a very good footballer. He will replace our Santi. Absolute brilliant on the ball.
Pepe not ready yet. But like what I saw from him. He takes on players and running at defenders. Quick and has ability. He will be a weapon when fully at 100%
2 assists, and strong against a petty but let side
