The resolve of the Wolves side is superb. I had no fear when United had the penalty - remembering Patricio's performance in the shoot-out against City. He is quite some goal keeper.

The refs ambling around when it goes To VAR not having a bloody clue what is going on makes a mockery of them and eventuallt obselete.

Glad to get away with a draw tonight as we played well below our capability and United were the better team for most of the game. Coady and Traore certainly the best for us and Adama did swing the balance in our favour for at least part of the second half. But Jota and our midfield three were really ineffective tonight and Doherty was clearly not fit and should never have started the game. Really good penalty save by Rui and a quite sensational goal by Neves. And I guess there’s some positivity in taking a point off United despite being well below par.

As for VAR I have felt from the beginning that it has the potential to ruin the game, and so far it’s been even worse than I imagined

Bit of a frustrating performance for sure. We looked well short of our best and United to be fair worked incredibly hard to close us down and deny us space. Not sure that accounts for the number of misplaced passes in the first half in particular. But we're a point better off than we'r were this time last season so can't complain.

Just seen video of Daniel James leaving a foot on Jota when on a yellow (for cheating). Where was VAR then pray tell?

I guess they pick and choose the incidents that can have a big impact on a season and decided that an accidental handball from six inches is an offence as is having your elbow half an inch ahead of the defenders knee but it is fair game to try and put someone out of action for three months.

It's no surprise to me that, just as the on field referees are biased towards the big head clubs, then so too is the VAR.

Have you considered that the officials didn’t think it was a yellow card offence?

Jota rolling around like he’d been shot doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a yellow card offence.

united played us well, bisaka and maguire have improved their defence , as it should for £130 mill, and our main out ball to jota was ineffective. they couldn't cope so well with traore and it was that that got us the goal - a message for those wolves fans who think he's useless.
you know who you are.

Traore certainly a great weapon to have on the bench and is putting forward a strong argument to be in the starting line up. Doherty clearly not fully fit and needs time to get ready after missing most of pre season. Traore can certainly add to our attacking options as he showed last night. Only question is whether having him as a wing back weakens us defensively

posted on 20/8/19

Traore will weaken us defensively, but he causes full backs to play deeper as they are concerned about his pace as well as wingers coming back to support. So in a lot of cases, that may counter what we lose.

I said when we first signed him that he started at Barcelona as a full back. Maybe this is his best position. He is certainly much better out wide than he is centrally. He gets lost in the middle of the pitch.

Most irritating thing about last night was Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville spending almost the entire post match discussion talking about Manchester United and the Pogba penalty that was saved. It's almost as if there was only one team on the pitch.

In many ways the positive from last night was the disappointment in how we played. We were well below our best and our midfield never really coped with the pressing game of United and Jota had a rare off night. We hardly got any supply to Jiminez and yet he was still very unlucky not to score. Defensively we coped ok and I thought Coady was excellent when they were on top in the first half and he reads the game so well nowadays. I thought he was unlucky with the penalty as he really did nothing except try to get out of the way, and it was a foul Pogba won rather than a poor challenge.

But to get a point against a top 6 side when we didn’t play anywhere near our best for most of the game is probably encouraging for the season ahead

Apparently Neville was spotted on the streets in Manchester this morning shouting: 'It's not right. Who is the designated penalty taker?' at parked cars.

loudest support i've heard from wolves fans last night, was 20 minutes after kick off before you heard united fans

..........................

Every time he plays against us he has or defence on edge. Seen him a few times for Wolves and looks a good player to me.

Traore's pace and physique makes him a pretty fearsome opponent but he has been struggling for an end product for Wolves. That is certainly coming now and he can be a big asset if we can get the best out of him. I always thought it would be the right decision to release Costa and Cavalairo and retain Traore and still believe that will prove to be the case

posted on 20/8/19

Still has a lot to prove for me, a good half here or there needs to turn into a good game most weeks but it is good to see an improvement. I don't see him keeping out a fully fit Doherty though and think Jonny is under more threat from Vinagre.

Have to assume Traore will start on Thursday as things stand and Doherty is not 100% and i wonder if Cutrone will get the start also

Was at the match last night, good after a poor start from both teams. 1-1 definitely a fair decision.

The 2 taking points:

1. Definitely the best 45 minutes I've seen from Traore. I have been one of his biggest critics, but was pleased when he replaced Doherty who had a really indifferent first half. I hope I am wrong big time when I have said Traore will never make it for Wolves, signs are promising. Personally I would start Doherty on Thursday, because he will improve with more match time, and if he does so then Nuno will have a definite decision to make for the next league game.

2. VAR is shiite. The crowd was hugely affected last night. 2 games in and the game has already changed for the worse. The Wolves fans were chanting their derision for VAR even AFTER the Neves goal was allowed. It has to go or at least be radically modified.

I think the start to the season has been more than OK so am still quietly confident

Haven't suffered a defeat yet in our first 8 games this term, Asia games included. Bad news is a defeat is coming sometime soon

posted on 20/8/19

will settle for that defeat being on Sunday 17th May when we have already secured the title with over 100 points
