Walking, golf, sitting and drinking, visiting cities.

Love my audio. Well I love my music so tweaking my gear for playback is a geeky pastime of mine. I mostly enjoy the final results of just listening as it should be heard but the process and different schools of thought give it a hobby aspect. I’ve currently got a bit of a mixture with a hand made, cottage industry valve pre-amp and fairly high end studio monitors.

I love learning about psychology. I find people and behaviour fascinating. Currently training to become a psychotherapist.

Travel is a big one for me. I’ve been very lucky with where I’ve been. Australia and India twice, Kenya, Cuba, Maldives some of the highlights. This year I’ve had other financial commitments so thought I’d try a bit of camping with the Mrs, recently went to the New Forest and we both loved it. Looking forward to more now and discovering more of the UK.

Reading, astronomy, exercise, podcasting (just in the process of launching my own). Watching and playing sport, social drinking with friends.

Thanks Kane

Nick! Yeah mate I took a looong break, I see a few familiar names still about which is good to see. Had a bit of a mad time, needed to take a bit of time out. Got out of marriage which wasn’t working for me, ten years together. I’ve relocated, got myself a new woman, new job. All via a stint in rehab a couple of years ago. Just needed to make some big changes and I’m very happy now.

I've been making mead using Lalvin 71B-1122
I read books on chaos theory
Done a deepfake with Trump instead of Bojo
I as a hobby develop AI betting systems.
I enjoy fishing.
I do occasional photography for fishing magazines.
I dabble with colour grading and video editing

Making mead, that’s brilliant.

I’ve fancied getting myself an old school wooden apple press after my next move.

I had a go on my mate’s Dad’s coracle this summer and got quite into it, was looking up woodland craft type courses where you can build your own.

Got a fresh bag of apples needing juiced, sitting in my cupboard. Planning on using the Safale S-04 ale yeast.

Shows what I know, I thought mead was made from honey.
Living in Calvados cider and Calvados are made on my doorstep, very nice too.
Should have added reading to my list. And architecture.

Mead is brutal, nice for one, strong but way too sickly for more than one. Got stealth smashed drinking a jug of that in some Cornish pub. Crept right up on me. In no time.

my mead is far closer to a white wine. 3.3lbs of honey per 5l means the sugars are exhausted by the yeast so you are looking at a dry 14% alcohol with notes of honey on the nose.

I found a very old bottle of mead in my granny's cupboard. Must be around 50 years old. Haven't tried yet.

Sounds good Admin. It is the honeymoon drink and yours sounds it would do the trick!
Pity I can't buy a bottle, talking about it has made me pour a Calvados.

https://www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-wine-making-starter-kit-12-bottle/p/0468418 everything you need to try it is in this kit. With the exception of honey and water. You can buy specific yeasts for about £3 on amazon, depending on what you want to try. Easy stuff.
