By all accounts Eriksen wants to leave and it would be a massive shock if he signed a contract. If he does, I personally think it would be with the intention of still leaving

----------

why would he do that? if that happens he needs a new agent / advisor !

he has played it perfectly and will become a very very rich man

Not suggesting it's likely just that if it does happen I think that would be the reason rather than intentions to stay - the small chance it does happen it would be because he'd have a c.£100k a week increase in salary for this season and has assurances of financial future in case he sustains a serious injury and loses out financially at both Spurs and externally by being out of contract

My issue with levy is that he WAS what Spurs needed when they needed to watch every penny to catch the title challenging teams. Now spurs have suffered due to him not spending the clubs/fans profit back into contracts/transfers.

No matter how you look at it all 3 are under payed compared to other players in the PL of their calibre, and that does cause issues. Don't get me wrong they aren't payed badly but it must be unsettling knowing the club pay them a superior deal but chosen not too.

Spurs have made such high profits the last few years and the way they account for the stadium spending I just don't think that justifies buying no one (before the last window) for quite some time. A few shrewd deals and Spurs would have at least more depth. That's the key thing between challenging for one trophy or several imo

Them 3 may be worth 100 million'ish as things stand but their value to spurs is more. Chop them out the team and the 11 is def weaker. Not sure why Levy gets let off the hook by so many when Spurs need to invest wisely what they can afford/ generate, not look for super bargain negotiations/deals to massage Levys ego.

If all 3 had solid deals rewarding their work and loyalty I'm sure they wouldn't seem as unsettled. Saying they've been offered x times more but not signed isn't seeing the bigger picture.

If spurs had spent say just 30-50 million in the windows prior, where there was no spending, it would Def make a player more inclined to stay I think. Players want to be paid a salary matching their market value and also win trophies

When you spend nothing for long periods despite having a strong team and massive fan backing/profit is it unreasonable for a player to question if the board shares their vision? Then salary isn't the be all and end all. Players have a short window at the top level.

Frustrating but I saw this coming many moons ago and got nearly lynched for suggesting levy had done great things but it's time for a new approach

Eriksen & Toby have had numerous contract offers.

Vertonghen is 32. I'd want him rewarded, not least because next summer we could well lose Aldi so to lose both would be expensive to address

But we have not been able to make Toby & Eriksen sign new deals. What else can we do? Its not as if Toby (31 next summer) will have his pick of top clubs to join or a massive 4/5 year mega money deal on the table, so its a bit weird why he hasnt taken a good offer from us. He has at good couple seasons at the top in him.

What else can Levy do? You certainly do not know how much money we've offered these players but are willing to blame Levy for not doing enough.

We don’t know what conversations have gone on between players and the club, everything on here is just speculation.

To suggest that the club have failed to tie certain players down to contracts flies in the face of what they have actually achieved.

Kane new contract, Dele new contract, Winks new contract, Lamela new contract, Davies new contract, Hugo new contract, Son new contract etc etc.

It would be highly unlikely for the club not to have offered Toby, Christian etc new contracts. As stated players cannot be forced to sign if the do not want to.

We got all three of Eriksen, Jan and Toby for €35m euros. All three have been unbelievable servants to this club and will have no bad feelings from me and I’m sure many others, should they leave. So many good memories from all 3 of them.

Don’t worry about the money side of it, let the people that have it worry about that.

It's all hypothetical and making bold predictions that we could lose £70m is pure speculations, unless you have evidence that Spurs have lost these players already?

I don't think you do?

Perhaps you misunderstand the meaning of ‘could’.

This Eriksen saga is not yet finished.
Some managers might hesitate to invest in a player who holds his clubs to ransom.
He said he wanted Real Madrid.....but Real want Pogba.
Does he want to go to Italy...... and would Juve be interested?
If not, would he be willing to go to a club like Napoli or Roma?
Levy has offered him the same pay as Kane.
Is that offer still on the table?

I think Eriksen may box himself into a corner where the clubs he wants don't want him.
And Levy may come out smelling like roses.
Roll on January ...We'll see won't we?

Oh, and BTW I am NOT a Levy fan

I would have exchanged him for Dybala if we had been able to.

Hope for Dybala in January, one way or another!

Eriksen would have signed by now you would have thought, so I would imagine he will hold out and move for free next year, Juve are notorious for picking up FT's so if not real madrid then juve, how many clubs would he move to if money is not the object, I would imagine 4-5 at most

Its not clear he would go to Italy.
He said Real Madrid.

I just think the fact that there wasn't investment for several windows, when the team was so close to the top, may have effected their enthusiasm to sign.

I just think a couple of signings would've sent out the message the club was looking to reinvest and win things, even spending at a modest level.

Real seems a crazy choice imo

Juve maybe but then they prefer to wave big fees in front of players and get them when their contract runs out, going by their recent activity with older players.

Like coutinho has found out I'm not sure it's wise for him to seek out a move but I do feel he should have had a wage increase an age ago
