Pepe. Seriously did anyone watch him before jizzing away £72m on him. I certainly hadn't watched him play. What do our scouts do? The guy is in serious danger of being one of the worst flops in history. For a start he has absolutely NO right foot. How can a top player nowadays be so one footed. Secondly his attitude doesn't seem right. He seems to lack bottle. He was bought as a winger and should be tearing the likes of Watford's defence apart. Instead he is peripheral to the action most of the time and does a few show pony tricks which some of the dumb fans get excited about.

He was completely outshone by an 18 year old rookie in the shape of Saka the other night.

He's now had a suitable bedding in period and it's now time for him to express himself, show some cojones and rip teams apart. That's what I expect for £72m .

P.S maybe there's a reason that we managed "to steal him away" from other clubs. The obvious answer being that they weren't really in for him.

Glenn Helder was better than Pepe so far which really is not saying very much... He needs to man up in this game ...put a real shift in and show us that he has the skills and the bottle to be a big fish in a big pond. At Lille he was a big fish in a very small pond.

I didn't think we should have bought him at the time, but you're all being very quick to write him off anyway. Plenty of our legends took a while and this is a guy who has shown he can go passed a player, and his record in France suggests he can finish a chance. Just need to get him into the right place.

Lets see him do it today just once

Still very early but I was gutted we didn't sign Zaha. He knows the league and there would be no bedding in period.

Just want to see Pepe take more risk.

Didn’t Henry Pires and Bergkamp take about 10 games or so to get a goal. Pepe hasn’t had many starts he’s shown he’s got quality to beat his man and his dribbling is very good. He’s got a few assists and leads the way for passes into the box for us. But he does look a bit tentative and nervous when it comes to his final pass or shot. So I’m hoping that starts to go after he gets a goal. It’s a shame Auba didn’t pass it to him on Thursday for a tap in. But you can’t really blame him for taking the goal. But it probably would have done some good for his confidence, unless he missed of course!

There’s no need to start piling in on him making out he’s a flop yet

I think people need to calm down about Pepe give the bloke sometime. If we are investing so much money in him we are doing a disservice to him if we cant at least give him time to adapt. It's a fair point to look at previous players and how long it took them to adapt. Robert Pires for example looked completely out of his depth in the first few months when he moved from the French league to Arsenal and look how he turned out, he became an absolute legend and one of my favourite players at Arsenal.

For me Ozil should always start home games.

Think he will definitely be sold or loaned in Jan

OZIL should be playing against Aston Villa at home. Xhaka again.Sokratis again, he is just a cart horse. I have lost faith in Emery already.

Happy to see Saka start - hoping to see us stretch teams more going forward, so fingers crossed Saka and Pepe down the flanks will provide that.

Sokratis and Xhaka starting shouldn't be a problem today in a game like this, but it will be a problem when we play the better teams. It's worrying that Emery persists with them.

Nah, there's absolutely no way we should be losing to that Aston Villa side today. They're garbage.

If we do drop points, it will be because of our own incompetence and naivety.

I don't get fans making a big deal about Pepe being so one footed, Messi and loads of others great players have been one footed too

Sokratis is a mess. Would rather see Mustafi than him.
