Ref was bloody awful at times. Great result and good team performance.
Shack has a hamstring injury. He felt it stretching during the first half. With between 5 & 10 to go. Carried on but obviously felt he needed to go off at half time
I hadn’t mentioned White or Dallas both of whom were really good as well. Looked very solid and composed.
Some very good performances tonight. How some people don’t think Bamford should start is beyond me. Dallas is the most underrated player at the club, brilliant. Thought Harrison and Costa improves massively on Charlton game. Both must continue that improvement though. Klich always looks like his legs have gone in the last 10 mins. Phillips also back to himself tonight
Dallas has been a revelation this year
thanks jonty, sounds good. glad to see costa fitting in.
Despite all the possession, West Brom didn't really create much pressure and we looked far more dangerous in front of goal than we have for some time. Top of the league and not a Spurs fan. Good night all in all.
Good result tonight but same problems still there, struggle to score more than one, final ball etc. Got away with it tonight for once.
Losing shakelton to injury changed the game
They dominated second half
Good win
Best comment I've seen for a long time today was "I'm more concerned about Man City away next season", that sums up where we are,
Though beilsa nearly cost us the game.
The decision to bring on Roberts was an appalling one.
Reminded me of Izzy brown coming last season, he was so unfit it was untrue, he could barley move, like playing with ten men.
I love Roberts to bits, think he’s a special talent, but some players can come straight back from injuries and be on it.
He takes months to get back right and worried he will always be half fit and never right.
Bloody shame if that happens
To be fair, Bielsa did pull Roberts out of the game when he saw it wasn’t the right move.
More annoyed that we didn’t keep Bartley when we had the chance — he’s a proven goal scorer at this level
I thought White was immense at the back tonight.
Overall great team performance & important result
Can anyone say whether or not we've had so many off our coaching staff booked in one season?..
Season 10 games old and we've got about as many coaching staff booked as players!..
It seemed a bit odd tonight having so much pressure against us, at least we now know the team can grind it out!..
I actually liked that we had to grind out a win
We weren't as manic trying to win the ball back all the time.
Funnily enough we seemed to create better chances tonight without dominating possession. Maybe this is the right way to play to get results in this division
Was it a more measured approach from Bielsa or was it that West Brom are a good team?
Shame that Shack was injured as he was having a great game.
Yeah agree Jonty.
Do you ever look at a player and sometimes think they are good for the bench, maybe not good enough to start?
Thats how I look at Harrison and Alioski for that matter
Really pleased for Bamford tonight - it seemed like he was everywhere. Great hold-up play and he should have got more from the ref. I'm beginning to understand why so many fans believe that Bamford has to start every game, but there is still no answer to the question: if Bamford is the man we rely on as our main goalscorer, yet isn't scoring, where are the goals going to come from? Tonight's goal was an own goal and the rest of the team are not pitching in with their share of goals. An observation I'm hearing from more from pundits is that our achilles heel is the inability to kill games off after scoring the first goal. Having said all that, I do feel tonight's win is massive confidence booster for both the team and the fans.

A good centre forward creates space for others. Midfield need to step up. They should have scored tonight.
Not sure why someone says Alioski is a bench player. He was very good tonight and rightly in ahead of Douglas.
Bamford awesome tonight.

I think: they came to play, gave us more room to work in. Don’t think it was deliberate by bielsa. Honestly, I think he’ll be livid at the second half performance. We got hassled off the ball, couldn’t retain possession and resorted to humping it clear and inviting further pressure. Weren’t able to press like we usually do. Very un-bielsaball.
It’s great that we ground out a win, and although being outplayed in the second half we restricted them to half chances and still created some ourselves... but I’m surprised at the level of positivity about the actual performance.
Drop Bamford for the next game. He didnt score and he sucks.
Bielsa should be sacked. Only winning 1-0 is not good enough.
We should have 33 points from the 10 games so far.
Disgraceful start to the season!!

I did wonder on this. The post match interview suggested they wanted to "concentrate more energy on defending" in the second half
Crowd helped tonight. Maybe a few have read my latest posts
At 1-0 there were a few periods that the crowd really got behind the players despite us being on the ropes at times. Can make such a difference to the players on the pitch.
